Trailer: New Romantic Comedy ‘Things Like This’

The new indie romantic comedy Things Like This tells the story of Zack Anthony, who finds himself falling for someone – also named Zack – despite his best efforts. The two meet at a talent showcase where Zack Mandel (Joey Pollari), an agent’s assistant, buys Zack Anthony (Max Talisman), a struggling writer, a drink. They both feel a connection, and soon assistant Zack is breaking up with his needy boyfriend in order to date writer Zack. The two Zacks go on to explore a relationship – the ups and downs – that is a reflection of the real world. Talisman –  in his feature film directorial debut after an acting career includes The Blacklist, Search Party, and After Masks – says he was inspired to make the film as he never saw plus-size actors like himself represented on screen as leading men. Joey Pollari, his co-star, has previously been seen in American Crime, SEAL Team, and The Obituary of Tunde Johnson.

The charming rom-com sparkles with hope, awkward meet-cutes, and the kind of slow-burn love that’s as satisfying as it is swoon-worthy.
