Allen Weisselberg (image via Trump Organization) Allen H. Weisselberg, a top executive for the Trump Organization for decades, has pleaded guilty to conspiring with the company to carry out a long-running tax scheme. Over a period of 15 years, he received $1.76 million in lavish perks like a Manhattan apartment, tuition for his children’s private schools, and leases on luxury cars without paying taxes. https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1560277540438446088 Prior to the plea deal he faced 15 years in prison. He is still required to pay $2 million in taxes, interest, and penalties. The New York Times reports as part of the deal, Weisselberg will be required to testify at the Trump Organization’s trial if prosecutors call on him. In his testimony he will have to admit his role in the tax scheme. While his admission of guilt doesn’t directly implicate the Donald, it goes without saying that there’s no way Weisselberg received all this without Trump’s knowledge. His loyalty to the Trump family is highlighted here by his willingness to accept jail time rather than turn on Donald Trump.
