The Force Gets Frisky: ‘The Empire Strips Back’ Opens In Las Vegas

I recently attended the intergalactic opening night of The Empire Strips Back – A Burlesque Parody, which serves up a hilarious, sexy, and visually stunning parody of the Star Wars universe.

The show delivers beloved characters in bold, unexpected ways—complete with Stormtrooper stripteases, Darth Vader in stilettos, hottie Han Solo who can throw down serious dance moves, and a jaw-dropping Jabba the Hutt act that Princess Leia would not have believed.

Via press release:

Transporting audiences to a galaxy far, far away, to a world of burlesque fantasy, of menacing and sexy dance, of dangerous seduction, of hilarious parody, and even the droids you’re looking for. Your favorite characters are scantily clad, seriously sultry and live on stage!

The lighting is absolutely fantastic, and the costumes (as you can see) are dramatic and sexy – racy but nothing that would make an audience uncomfortable. The opening night audience was beyond enthusiastic, and I’m told the show is selling out. Following sold-out hit runs in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Sydney and many others, The Empire Strips Back has now landed in Las Vegas for a residency at Rio Hotel & Casino. For ticket info, click over to TheEmpireStripsBack.com or RioLasVegas.com. Must be 18+ to attend.
