Some news items that caught my eye: • Las Vegas Review Journal: One person was killed and seven suffered minor injuries when a Tesla Cybertruck exploded (screen capture above) in front of the entrance to Trump International Hotel here in Las Vegas early Wednesday morning. • Gay Times: A new study has suggested that trans athletes may actually be at a physical disadvantage compared to cisgender athletes.

• Washington Blade: Oscar winner Cher has penned the first of two memoirs and the appropriately titled Cher: The Memoir Part One looks to be a terrific read. If you’ve seen her talk show appearances, you know she’s a great pull-no-punches storyteller. • Men’s Health: Spider Man star Tom Holland looks like he’s held on to his super-hero body as he covers the latest issue of Men’s Health Magazine.

• Pink News: Author J.K. Rowling continued her campaign against transgender people declaring on X/Twitter, “There are no trans kids. No child is ‘born in the wrong body.'” • Boy Culture: Jocelyn Wildenstein, the Swiss-born socialite who became known as the “Catwoman,” died at 84 on New Year’s Eve. She claimed in November never to have had plastic surgery, and would only admit to trying Botox twice.
RIP Jocelyn Wildenstein, 84. The so-called “Catwoman” died NYE of a pulmonary embolism — in a Parisian palace, because of course. As recently as November, she said she’d never had plastic surgery because it can turn out “heavy and terrible.” She copped to doing Botox 2x. pic.twitter.com/riJDkYlIPM
