Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) withdrew from a speaking appearance today at the 2019 Second Step Presidential Justice Forum at Benedict College, a historically black college, after the school honored Donald Trump on Friday.
“As the only candidate who attended an [historically black college or university], I know the importance that these spaces hold for young Black Americans,” Harris said in a statement Friday per The Hill.
“Today, when it became clear Donald Trump would receive an award after decades of celebrating mass incarceration, pushing the death penalty for innocent Black Americans, rolling back police accountability measures and racist behavior that puts people’s lives at risk … I cannot in good faith be complicit in papering over his record.”
Instead, Harris announced she would host a criminal justice roundtable for students from around Columbia, South Carolina.
Trump trolled Harris on Saturday called her a “badly failing presidential candidate” and took credit for “producing” and signing into law “major Criminal Justice Reform legislation.”
He followed those tweets with a third containing just an ellipsis. #Ok
Harris clapped back touting her long career in law and justice adding, “The only part of criminal justice you can claim credit for is the ‘criminal’ part.”
Suh-nap!
Badly failing presidential candidate @KamalaHarris will not go to a very wonderful largely African American event today because yesterday I recieved a major award, at the same event, for being able to produce & sign into law major Criminal Justice Reform legislation, which will..
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 26, 2019
….greatly help the African American community (and all other communities), and which was unable to get done in past administrations despite a tremendous desire for it. This and best unemployment numbers EVER is more than Kamala will EVER be able to do for African Americans!

My whole life I’ve fought for justice and for the people — something you’d know nothing about. The only part of criminal justice you can claim credit for is the “criminal” part. https://t.co/ykIoNI3Y0D

In regards to all that Trump has “done” for the African-American community, let’s take a look, shall we?
• He called for the death penalty for Central Park 5 and never apologized
• He won’t endorse, or even say, Black Lives Matter
• He defended white supremacists as “fine people”
• He demonized black NFL players for taking a knee to bring attention to injustice

L-R Donald Trump, Anthony Scaramucci |
Boom: “Scaramucci, who like so many others had nothing to do with my Election victory, is only upset that I didn’t want him back in the Administration (where he desperately wanted to be). Also, I seldom had time to return his many calls to me. He just wanted to be on TV!”

Bam: “You are losing your fastball— very weak troll. Bullying is the most anti-American thing in our culture and it is emanating from the Oval Office. Many have called and are willing to work on a necessary replacement. Time to call in a good relief pitcher.”
Mooch is getting sassy…LOL

Andy Cohen slapped back at his Twitter trolls |
Bravo TV host Andy Cohen received some serious flack for his co-hosting appearance on CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper.
Here’s just a sample:
Damn! @Andy you are the most annoying person I have ever had to listen and watch. Switching right off, turd. #andycohen #CNN #newyears @CNN hurtin’ @andersoncooper @kathygriffin HURTIN’— Michael Bbbbbbbbb (@vinylstat) January 1, 2019
Meow!
Now, I’ll admit Cohen isn’t my cup of tea, either. I find him to be a bit self-serving, self-satisfied and smug most of the time. Pretty much the opposite of BDE.
But, I will say I love a good come-back on social media. And it turns out Mr. Cohen isn’t shy about firing off some sassy slap backs.
So just to add a little balance here on Instinct, here’s a few of Andy Cohen’s more tasty retorts.
First up, actor and right-wing loon James Woods (who has his own rather troublesome dating issues) criticized Cohen and Cooper for the way they handled some celebratory on-air shots.
Wood tweeted video of the men drinking with a sarcastic “Men in 2019…” caption:
Assholes in 2019….. https://t.co/vFLcYSPsf0— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 1, 2019
Cohen retweeted with his own caption, “Assholes in 2019…).
Boom!
A few more bon mots from Mr. Cohen:
We feel the same about you.— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 1, 2019
You’re sweet— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 2, 2019
Why do you folo me?— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 1, 2019
As long as we embarrass you. That’s our goal. Just you.— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 2, 2019
Cohen is practically patting this Twitter user on the head:
Ok sweetie— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 2, 2019
And my favorite comeback by the toothy TV host:
Please do something about your hair before tweeting me again— Andy Cohen (@Andy) January 1, 2019

Stormy Daniels |
After a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit brought by porn star Stormy Daniels against Donald Trump alleging he had defamed her by calling her claims of a one night stand a lie, Trump took to Twitter to call the adult performer, among other things, “horseface.”
Trump tweeted, “Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.” @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!”
You may notice that last misplaced comma basically shows Trump calling himself “a total con.”

She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 16, 2018
But Stormy Daniels is not one to stand down. The porn star slapped back with her own biting critique addressing him as “Tiny.”
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present your president. In addition to his…umm…shortcomings, he has demonstrated his incompetence, hatred of women and lack of self control on Twitter AGAIN! And perhaps a penchant for bestiality. Game on, Tiny. https://t.co/6DpDD5ELtj— Stormy Daniels (@StormyDaniels) October 16, 2018
For his part, Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti also jumped into the fray:
You are a disgusting misogynist and an embarrassment to the United States. Bring everything you have, because we are going to demonstrate to the world what a complete shyster and liar you are. How many other women did you cheat on your wife with while you had a baby at home? https://t.co/npOKOEFju6— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) October 16, 2018
.@realDonaldTrump – tens of millions of Americans are tired of your fraud, lies, and corruption. They are equally tired of your attacks on women, especially the ones who you have had sex with while cheating on your wives. We (and the UN) are laughing AT YOU, not with you. #Basta— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) October 16, 2018
Twitter announced the top “Liked” and “Retweeted” posts of 2017, and the results might be a bit unexpected for some folks.
Considering the turmoil and angst Donald Trump creates with his favorite social media platform, it’s surprising that Trump is nowhere to be found on either list.
From The New Yorker:
The big news is that none of the year’s ten most-retweeted tweets are by Donald Trump. Instead, three are by Barack Obama—and two of the top three most-liked tweets are Obama’s, too. (The second-most-liked tweet is from the singer Ariana Grande, written after the bombing at her Manchester concert, in May.)
In perception, this has been the year of D.J.T. on Twitter, tramping like an angry wildebeest across the civic turf. But, according to the company’s numbers, the largest footprint on the landscape has really been B.H.O.’s.
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion,” goes Obama’s most-liked post of 2017, with 4.6 million hearts. (It also had 2.7 million retweets, making it No. 2 on that list.) The quote is from Nelson Mandela, and the included photo is of Obama hanging out with toddlers of many skin colors.
Below that, at No. 5, is President Obama’s official valediction (“I’m asking you to believe—not in my ability to create change, but in yours”), and, at No. 8, his final wave goodbye (“It’s been the honor of my life to serve you. You made me a better leader and a better man”). His note to Senator John McCain, after the announcement of his brain cancer (“Give it hell, John”), is the third-most-favorited.
The article goes on to say one reason Obama’s tweets land so much better is they tend to be of a nature that folks are proud to be associated with. In other words, uplifting.
Another thought is that Obama’s supporters make a point to underscore Obama’s tweets as method of poking at Trump’s followers.
After his fifth day in a row on a golf course, Donald Trump took to Twitter today to attack (yet again) CNN News and pump up Fox News.
“Fox News is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly,” the president wrote. “The outside world does not see the truth from them!”

The outside world does not see the truth from them!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 25, 2017
Not sure exactly what set that off, but CNN was ready to clap back at the Trumpster, tweeting that it isn’t the network’s “job to represent the US. to the world.”
“That’s yours,” the network’s comm team wrote. “Our job is to report the news.”

Speaking to reporters this morning, Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee was asked by Mary K. Bruce of ABC News if he felt Donald Trump was “debasing” the United States with his behavior.
Corker was unequivocal in his response: “I don’t think there’s any question.”
In the same interview, Corker said he had hoped Trump would “rise to the occasion as president to lead our nation, instead of dividing it.”
Watch below.

— ABC News (@ABC) October 24, 2017
In another interview with CNN, Corker had much more to say, including:
“I would hope the staff over there would figure out ways of controlling him when they know that everything he said today was absolutely untrue.”
“I think that he’s proven himself unable to rise to the occasion … I don’t think that that’s possible. He’s obviously not going to rise to the occasion as president.”
“The President has great difficulty with the truth. On many issues.”
“I don’t know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard, and debases our country in a way that he does, but he does.”
“I think world leaders are very aware that much of what he says is untrue.”
Clearly, the Trumpster was watching. Check out the Twitter rant below from Trump this morning.
But Corker won the exchange tweeting, “Same untruths from an utterly untruthful president.” #AlertTheDayCareStaff
The hashtag #AlertTheDayCareStaff immediately began trending on Twitter.
File this one under “Infighting is funny.” It’s obvious that Corker, who has announced he will not seek reelection next year, has zero fucks left to give about the Trump presidency.
Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts….— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 24, 2017

Isn’t it sad that lightweight Senator Bob Corker, who couldn’t get re-elected in the Great State of Tennessee, will now fight Tax Cuts plus!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 24, 2017
Sen. Corker is the incompetent head of the Foreign Relations Committee, & look how poorly the U.S. has done. He doesn’t have a clue as…..— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 24, 2017

After the hideous far-right politcal pundit Ann Coulter was moved from one seat to another on a Delta Airlines flight this weekend, she went on a Twitter tirade.
Lots of response from the Twitterverse, but CNN’s Anna Navarro has to be the best (above).
Here’s a bit more:
Just when you think it’s safe to fly them again, the worst airline in America is STILL: @Delta— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 15, 2017
“Why are you taking me out of the extra room seat I specifically booked, @Delta?’ Flight attendant: “I don’t know.” pic.twitter.com/a0M1faZXMu— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 15, 2017
Hey @Delta, if it was so important for the dachshund-legged woman to take my seat, she should have BOOKED THE SEAT IN ADVANCE. Like I did.— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 16, 2017
If you thought it was about $30, @Delta, why didn’t you give this woman $30 and let me stay in my PRE-BOOKED, ASSIGNED seat? pic.twitter.com/sR1g8tuRWX— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 17, 2017
@AnnCoulter We’re sorry you did not receive the preferred seat you paid for and will refund your $30. (cont.)— Delta (@Delta) July 16, 2017

Congrats, @AnnCoulter, you’ve done the impossible. People are actually defending an airline.— Elad Nehorai (@PopChassid) July 16, 2017
