Tim Tebow Signs One Year Contract With Philadelphia Eagles

Former NFL quarterback gets a second (third?) chance at the big time with the announcement that he has signed a one year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The sports world is pretty much shaking it’s head over this one. Tebow’s career completion rate is 47.9%.

And yet, out footballer Michael Sam is told over and over again HE’S not playing in the NFL because he’s simply not good enough?

In the 2014 NFL preseason Sam was top-five in the NFL in sacks and was second on the St. Louis Rams team in tackles.

I’m not the only one scratching my head.

Tim Tebow signs with ESPN

Tim Tebow, pictured shirtless here in a press photo, has signed with ESPN as a football analyst

Former New England Patriots back-up QB Tim Tebow lands a gig with ESPN.

Via press release from ESPN:

Former Florida quarterback and Heisman winner, Tim Tebow, has been hired as a college football analyst for the SEC Network launching in August 2014.

Through a multi-year agreement, Tebow’s primary role will be as an analyst for SEC Nation, the network’s traveling pregame show that will originate from a different SEC campus each week beginning August 28, 2014.

In the months leading up to launch and after, he will contribute to a variety of ESPN platforms including SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and the network’s Heisman Trophy coverage, offering in-depth perspective as a legendary Southeastern Conference player.

New York Jets release Tim Tebow

The NY Times is reporting that the New York Jets have released Tim Tebow:

On Monday morning, the Jets cut Tebow with no pomp, a victim of circumstance. They acknowledged an experiment gone awry with a news release that said, simply, “Jets waive QB Tim Tebow.” There was no mention in that release of Tebow’s statistics with the Jets, perhaps in part because there were none worth mentioning.

He was more afterthought than asset, more distraction than revelation, a decoy who played a greater role on special teams than behind center.

No word on where Tebow could end up in the NFL.

Tim Tebow cancels speech at First Baptist Church of Dallas

Tim Tebow has cancelled his much ballyhooed April appearance at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Tebow tweeted:

While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ’s unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic…First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance. I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!

From JoeMyGod: “Stand by for the howls of outrage as this is clearly the result of homofascism. Either that or Tebow is now aware that First Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress has said that all Jews and Mormons will go to hell and that Satan runs the Catholic Church.”
