A preview clip of the CBS show shows the trio — all of whom were medically evacuated on previous seasons — giving interviews before shooting started on Survivor: Philippines, which marks the reality competition’s 25th season.

“Survivor smacked me in the chops, and this time I’m smacking back,” says Russell Swan, who became unconscious as a result of dehydration during a challenge on Survivor: Samoa, the show’s 19th season.

Jonathan Penner, meanwhile, has appeared on the show twice before: He originally competed on Survivor: Cook Islands, season 13, but returned three seasons later for Survivor: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites, during which his knee became infected and he was forced to leave the show.

Michael Skupin originally competed on the show’s second season, Survivor: The Australian Outback. He was removed from the game after falling into a campfire and burning his hands.

As a viewer of every season of Survivor I’m definitely in the Michael Skupin camp “for the win.” Skupin was on track to be a heavy favorite his season, and I’m personally rooting for him to come back and make his mark.

“Survivor: Philippines” is welcoming three returning players to the cast, all of whom were medically evacuated in the sixth episode of their previous seasons, for a shot at redemption.

EW reveals that Jonathan Penner, Michael Skupin and Russell Swan are the returning castaways that round out the cast of 18, divided into three tribes this time.

Skupin, now 50 years old, was last seen on “Survivor: Australia” back in 2001. He famously fell into the fire pit and he to be airlifted out of the campsite. Penner, also 50 years old, has played in two previous “Survivor” seasons. He finished seventh on “Survivor: Cook Islands,” but when he was brought back for “Fans vs. Favorites,” he was medically removed when a cut on his knee became infected.

Swan, 45, had perhaps the scariest medical emergency, as severe dehydration during “Survivor: Samoa” caused his eyes to roll back in his head as he passed out, and then sat there glassy-eyed as they waited for the medics.

Having watched every season of SURVIVOR, I have to say Colton Cumbie is easily my least liked player to ever appear on the show.

Earlier this season, before being forced from the game due to health issues, he spent his time on the show spouting bigoted and racist statements about everything from poverty to skin color to little people.

Last night on the reunion show, Jeff Probst looked back on some of Colton’s statements and asked how that played back to Colton once he was home.

I’ve watched Survivor on CBS since season 1.  It’s one of the few shows Michael and I never miss (thank god for DVRs).

This season, Survivor One World decided to include a gay character on one of the teams. His name is Colton, he’s a Republican college student, and he is an embarrassing, bigoted gay man. He has it out for an African-american contestant named Bill, whom he calls “ghetto trash.”  After stating that he has black people in his life, he clarified that by adding the person was his housekeeper in Alabama.

He also calls a little-person contestant Leif a “little Munchkin” who’s “about to get knocked back to Oz” above, as well as an “oompah-loompah.”

The viewing audience has seen nothing redeeming about Colton.  I doubt we will.
