Trump Lawyer Used Trump Organization Email Account To Pay Stormy Daniels

NBC News is reporting Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, used his Trump Organization email account to arrange payment of $130,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Now – why would he use his TrumpOrg.com account if the payment to Daniels had nothing to do with Trump?

The lawyer, Michael Cohen, also regularly used the same email account during 2016 negotiations with the actress — whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford — before she signed a nondisclosure agreement, a source familiar with the discussions told NBC News.

And Clifford’s attorney at the time addressed correspondence to Cohen in his capacity at the Trump Organization and as “Special Counsel to Donald J. Trump,” the source said.

Cohen has tried to put distance between the president and the payout, which has been the subject of campaign finance complaints.

In a statement last month, Cohen said he used his “personal funds to facilitate a payment” to Clifford, who says she had an intimate relationship with Trump a decade ago.

“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Cohen said in that statement.

But an email uncovered in the last 24 hours and provided to NBC News by Clifford’s current attorney, Michael Avenatti, shows First Republic Bank and Cohen communicated about the money using his Trump company email address, not his personal gmail account.

“I think this document seriously calls into question the prior representation of Mr. Cohen and the White House relating to the source of the monies paid to Ms. Clifford in an effort to silence her,” said Avenatti, who is representing Clifford in a lawsuit against Trump.

Daniels’ lawyer says the email suggests the money for Daniels came from a Trump account since Cohen used his TrumpOrg email account to facilitate the transfer.

Pastor Robert Jeffress On Trump: We Knew We Weren’t Voting For An Alter Boy

During an appearance on Fox News last night, Pastor Robert Jeffress explained that evangelicals don’t care about Donald Trump’s Stormy Daniels scandal because “they knew they weren’t voting for an alter boy.”

Jeffress, a Fox News contributor and die-hard Trump supporter, defended evangelicals supportive of the president against charges of hypocrisy in light of recent news about the porn star tryst. “Let’s be clear, evangelicals still believe in the commandment: thou shalt not have sex with a porn star,” Jeffress said.

“However, whether this president violated that commandment or not is totally irrelevant to our support of him,” he continued. “Evangelicals knew they weren’t voting for an altar boy when they voted for Donald Trump. We supported him because of his policies and his strong leadership.”

So, I can wrap my head around evangelicals didn’t expect Trump to be squeaky clean in the marital morals department.

But, it doesn’t bother them that he LIES about sexual escapades and other issues?

Trump Furious At WH Spokesperson For Giving Stormy Daniels Story “Steroids”

According to CNN sources, Donald Trump was apparently furious at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for addressing a question about porn star Stormy Daniels at a White House press briefing.

CNN’s John Acosta shared with his colleagues: “A source close to White House says Trump is upset with @PressSec Sarah Sanders over her handling of Stormy Daniels questions yesterday. “POTUS is very unhappy,” the source said. “Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday,” the source added.

During Wednesday’s press briefing, Sanders was asked by reporter Jeff Zeleny if Trump approved the payment made in October 2016 by his lawyer Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels 11 days before the election.

Sanders answered, “This case has already been won in arbitration, and anything beyond that, I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel.”

Another reporter followed up with, “You said that there’s arbitration that’s already been won — by whom and when?”

“By the president’s personal attorneys, and for details on that I’d refer you to them. I can share that the arbitration was won in the president’s favor,” Sanders replied.

As many news outlets quickly pointed out, by acknowledging Trump winning some arbitration against Daniels, we have tacit confirmation that there’s some sort of agreement between Daniels and Trump.

If there were no agreement, there wouldn’t be anything to arbitrate.

BREAKING: Stormy Daniels Files Lawsuit Saying NDA Is “Invalid”

NBC News is reporting that adult film star Stormy Daniels has filed a lawsuit saying the non-disclosure agreement between Donald Trump and herself is invalid because Trump never signed it.

The suit alleges that her agreement not to disclose her “intimate” relationship with Trump is not valid because while both Daniels and Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen signed it, Trump never did.

Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, signed both the agreement and a side letter agreement using her professional name on October 28, 2016, just days before the 2016 presidential election. Cohen signed the document the same day. Both agreements are appended to the lawsuit as Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2.

The “hush agreement,” as it’s called in the suit, refers to Trump throughout as David Dennison, and Clifford as Peggy Peterson. The side letter agreement reveals the true identities of the parties as Clifford and Trump.

Each document includes a blank where “DD” is supposed to sign, but neither blank is signed.

According to the lawsuit, Clifford and Trump had an intimate relationship that lasted from summer 2006 “well into the year 2007.” The relationship allegedly included meetings in Lake Tahoe and at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

NBC News goes on to say Clifford’s reps say there have been attempts as recently as the last few weeks to keep her quiet.

The lawsuit also asserts that Donald Trump, as a client of Michael Cohen, must be aware of the behind-the-scenes machinations since the New York bar association requires Cohen to keep his clients informed at all times.

I have to add, however, that this news will not affect any of Trump’s supporters.

His straight, white male followers will just say, “I’d do the same thing.”

Stormy Daniels Threatened To Reveal Alleged Trump Affair When $130K Payment Was Late

The Washington Post is reporting today that just weeks before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump’s lawyer nearly screwed the pooch on paying a porn star to stay silent about her alleged affair with then-candidate Trump.

Having missed a critical deadline for paying off Stormy Daniels, she was threatening to go public about the affair.

In an Oct. 17 email, an attorney for Daniels — a porn star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — threatened to cancel the nondisclosure agreement by the end of the day.

That very morning, Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, had created a limited liability company, public records show, that ultimately would serve as a vehicle for Daniels’s payoff. But the money had not arrived. A second email to Cohen, a short time after the first, said Daniels was calling the deal off.

“Please be advised that my client deems her settlement agreement canceled and void,” Daniels’s lawyer, Keith Davidson, wrote in the email, which The Washington Post obtained.

Ten days later, the $130,000 payment arrived, according to another email reviewed by The Post. Daniels’s story about her sexual encounter with Trump a decade earlier would remain under wraps long past Election Day.

The payment to Daniels was made just 12 days before the election.

Progressive research group American Bridge and Common Cause, a government watchdog group, have both filed complaints with the Federal Election Commission arguing the payment was meant to influence the Nov. 8 election and therefore violated campaign finance law.

Trump’s Longtime Personal Lawyer Admits To Paying Porn Star $130,000

Michael D. Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer and go-to “fix-it” guy, said on Tuesday that he personally paid $130,000 out of his own pocket to porn star Stormy Daniels who had claimed to have had an affair with Mr. Trump.

What a mensch. He pays his buddy/client’s prostitution bill just to be nice.

From The New York Times:

In the most detailed explanation of the 2016 payment made to the actress, Stephanie Clifford, Mr. Cohen, who worked as a counsel to the Trump Organization for more than a decade, said he was not reimbursed for the payment.

“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Mr. Cohen said in a statement to The New York Times. “The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.”

He declined to answer several follow-up questions, including whether Mr. Trump had been aware that Mr. Cohen made the payment, why he made the payment or whether he had made similar payments to other people over the years.

Mr. Cohen has previously said that Mr. Trump has denied an affair with Ms. Clifford, whose stage name is Stormy Daniels. She has said the affair took place soon after Mr. Trump’s wife, Melania, gave birth to the couple’s son, Barron.

Note that there was no reason given as to why Cohen wrote the $130,000 check.

Stormy Daniels Handles Jimmy Kimmel Appearance With Aplomb

As promised, after Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address last night, porn star Stormy Daniels made a lengthy appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The appearance, obviously, was Kimmel’s attempt to see if he could get anything out of Daniels regarding an alleged sexual relationship she might have had back in 2006 just months after Melania Trump would have given birth to Trump’s third son, Barron.

InTouch Weekly recently published a 5,500 word interview that had been conducted back then but never released.

Several sources say Daniels was paid $130,000 near or after the end of the 2016 election in “hush money.”

Now, all that aside, the fun here is watching Daniels navigate the Kimmel mine-field. Will she slip up? Will she say anything?

My take is: she’s a smart girl, and charming. She handles herself well and comes across as confident and composed.

One of the better quotes from the interview comes when Kimmel asks what she thought of Donald Trump inviting three of Bill Clinton’s accusers to one of the 2016 presidential debates.

Her take? “Dirty. And I know a lot about dirty. Even I wouldn’t do that.”

Kimmel also asked the entertainer if she actually signed a document that purports to deny the alleged affair to which she responded with a smile, “I don’t know. Did I? It doesn’t look like my signature, does it?”

The segment is fluff but there’s a sense of fun to the whole thing. Good for her for handling it so well.

Stormy Daniels To Appear On Jimmy Kimmel After Trump’s State Of The Union Address

It’s not the Democratic response after Donald Trump’s State of the Union address I’ll be looking forward to.

Oh no, it’s the response of porn star Stormy Daniels who will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show after Trump’s address on Tuesday evening.

As you may know by now, Daniels was alleged to have had an affair with Trump in 2006 just months after his son Barron was born to wife Melania.

There are multiple reports that Daniels was paid $130,000 in hush money at the end of the 2016 election to avoid embarrassing Trump.

Will she address any questions about the alleged affair? During an interview on Inside Edition this week, Daniels just smiled when asked if she had a sexual relationship with Trump.

I’m betting Kimmel finds an amusing way to address her non-answers.

In Touch Weekly To Run Porn Star’s “Textbook Generic Sex” Affair With Donald Trump

Rumors have again been swirling about an alleged consensual sexual relationship between Donald Trump and porn star Stormy Daniels (aka Stephanie Clifford).

According to the Wall Street Journal , Daniels was in negotiations to publicly discuss her affair with Trump, which allegedly took place in 2006, right before election day in 2016.

But says she was paid $130,000 in hush money right before spilling the beans.

Now In Touch Weekly has announced it will print an unedited 5,500 word interview with Daniels from 2011 (before she allegedly signed a non-disclosure agreement) which details the affair.

The magazine says two other sources corroborated the story and Daniels passed a polygraph test at the time regarding the details.

According to Daniels, the relationship began just months after Melania Trump gave birth to Trump scion, Barron.

Here’s an excerpt released today:

Stormy told In Touch, “[The sex] was textbook generic,” while discussing the fling they had less than four months after Donald’s wife, Melania, gave birth to their son, Barron. “I actually don’t even know why I did it, but I do remember while we were having sex, I was like, ‘Please, don’t try to pay me.’”

It all started at the American Century celebrity golf tournament in July 2006. “[Trump] was introduced to everybody. He kept looking at me and then we ended up riding to another hole on the same golf cart together,” Stormy recalled, adding that the business mogul later came to the gift lounge her adult-film company, Wicked Pictures, sponsored and asked for her number, which she gave him, before they posed for a photo together.

“Then he asked me if I wanted to have dinner that night. And I was like, ‘Yeah, of course!’” she told In Touch. Stormy, dressed up to go out on the town, arrived at Trump’s hotel room, where she says she was greeted by a bodyguard named Keith, who let her inside. Stormy claims Trump was sprawled on the couch watching TV, wearing pajama pants. “We ended up having dinner in the room,” she revealed to In Touch.

At one point, Stormy told In Touch, she excused herself to go to the bathroom. “When I came out, he was sitting on the bed and he was like, ‘Come here.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh, here we go.’ And we started kissing.” After having sex, Stormy said, “We hung out for a little while and he just kept saying, ‘I’m gonna call you, I’m gonna call you. I have to see you again. You’re amazing. We have to get you on The Apprentice.’”

The promised appearance on Trump’s The Apprentice series never happened.

According to The Daily Beast, other media outlets – including Fox News – were prepping their own coverage of the alleged affair before the election but chose not to run the story.

Trump has flatly denied the allegations.

Daniels refuses to comment today presumably due to the NDA she is alleged to have signed.

As I’ve written in the past, It’s not of interest to me what two consenting adults do in private. But, if true, this just adds to the list of lies Donald Trump has told.
