It’s National Voter Registration Day, So Get Ready To Flex Your Vote

Today is National Voter Registration Day, so just in case…here’s some info you might want to use.

So many people believe their one vote may not matter in elections, but they do. How do I know? Check this out.

Donald Trump won Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin  – all three – with less than one percent of the vote.

He won Florida by less than 2 points.

But, check out how many LGBTQ voters there were that not only didn’t vote but didn’t even REGISTER to vote.

Clearly the LGBTQ vote could – and should – make a difference. is a non-partisan movement to inspire the LGBTQ+ community to register and vote. Working to combat voter apathy among all marginalized Americans, their movement demands all citizens are treated equally.

The group has partnered with When We All Vote, a non-partisan voting effort co-chaired by Michelle Obama and several other influential voices who are changing the culture around voting using a data-driven and multifaceted approach to increase participation in elections.

If you click over to VoteProud, you can easily check your voter registration or – if you’re not registered already – do it right there.

We are weeks away from the single most important thing we can do this decade. If we cannot mobilize every single person we know to vote, we will suffer unprecedented oppression and hatred for the next 4 years and beyond. The earth will be stripped of its resources leaving the next generation with nothing. We will all be stripped of our rights as minorities, LGBTQ people, women and pretty much everyone else whose net worth is less than $20 million. If we can each inspire 1 person to vote, we can say that we did something. Doing nothing is no longer an option. PLEASE REQUEST YOUR MAIL IN BALLOT AT WWW.VOTE.ORG TODAY! I will personally shout out every single person who DMs me a pic of their Absentee ballot application form. I long for a time when we aren’t motivated by hatred and divisiveness. We can have it but ONLY OF WE TAKE IT! Rest In Peace #ruthbaderginsburg #VOTE #MIKERUIZ #absenteeballot #mailinballot #votebymail #LOVE

Calendar: “Heart Throbs And Hounds”

All photos by Mike Ruiz

Celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz (Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Prince and more) knows a LOT about shooting the male physique.

And now, the handsome lensman is donating those skills to a new charity cause as he pairs woofy men with literal woofers for his 2018 calendar called “HeartThrobs and Hounds.”

The 13-month calendar will make sure you have a reason to smile every single day of 2018.

The calendar features well-known male fitness models including James Ellis, Dragos Sykos, Myles Leask and cover-model Mike O’Hearn.

Proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go towards Fur Friends in Need and Lilo’s Promise animal rescue. Both organizations seek to find new homes for abandoned pets.

Both organizations hope the “HeartThrobs and Hounds” 2018 calendar will help change the way people look at rescues.

“People mistakingly assume it is the fault of the animal that it ended up being surrendered or abandoned,” says Nancy Flint, the founder of Fur Friends in Need. “I would say 90% of our animals have no issues whatsoever. It’s their humans who have failed them.”

Adds Schafer, “Shelter pets are not second-hand goods. There are amazing animals in shelters all over the US, including Aladdin and Bordeaux who are featured in the calendar. They simply need a little love to shine!”

Ruiz himself knows the power of saving abandoned furry friends. Five years ago, he saved Oliver, a pit bull that had been left for dead. His experience and longtime relationship with Oliver sparked the idea for an annual calendar combining two personal passions: photography and dogs in need.

Every dollar made from the sale of the “HeartThrobs and Hounds” 2018 calendar will go directly to Fur Friends in Need and Lilo’s Promise animal rescues. “The calendar makes a perfect holiday gift for any human being with eyes and a pulse, and it brings awareness to our furry friends in need,” says Mike.

Mike Ruiz’s 2018 calendar, “HeartThrobs and Hounds,” is available for only $19.99 at .

In order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of disco classic “It’s Raining Men,” Sony Music decided to re-release the single with an album cover photographed by Mike Ruiz. And what better way to celebrate the hit than by placing its original singer in the center of a bunch of half-naked, oiled-up muscle-men?

Let it rain, kids, let it rain.
