During her Republican response to President Biden’s State of the Union address, Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) breathlessly shared the story of a woman who had been repeatedly raped as a 12-year-old upon being brought to the United States for sex-trafficking purposes. Listening to Britt’s version of the details, it’s clear she intended for folks to believe all of this happened in the U.S. under Biden’s watch. It turns out that wasn’t the case at all.
