Rick Santorum: These Kids Should Learn CPR Instead Of Protesting

Eternal douche nozzle Rick Santorum told a panel on CNN today that kids are “looking to someone else to solve their problem” when they should be taking individual action like “taking CPR classes.”

It’s worth noting that, while CPR is useful for heart stoppage, the shooting victim of an AR-15 with multiple holes ripped through their body would probably lose even more blood faster if someone started pumping on their heart.

In late February, during another panel discussion on CNN Santorum pointed to “broken homes without dads” as being something that is “common in these shootings.”

Host Jake Tapper pointed out a flaw in Santorum’s theory, as far as the Parkland shooting was concerned. “His dad had died,” Tapper told Santorum. “It wasn’t a ‘broken home.’”

It’s so strange to me that conservatives, who used to champion rising up and taking a stand, all seem so opposed to these students raising their voices.

Twitter jumped on the comment including Parkland senior Emma Gonzalez who trolled Santorum in righteous fashion:

Trump Furious At WH Spokesperson For Giving Stormy Daniels Story “Steroids”

According to CNN sources, Donald Trump was apparently furious at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for addressing a question about porn star Stormy Daniels at a White House press briefing.

CNN’s John Acosta shared with his colleagues: “A source close to White House says Trump is upset with @PressSec Sarah Sanders over her handling of Stormy Daniels questions yesterday. “POTUS is very unhappy,” the source said. “Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday,” the source added.

During Wednesday’s press briefing, Sanders was asked by reporter Jeff Zeleny if Trump approved the payment made in October 2016 by his lawyer Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels 11 days before the election.

Sanders answered, “This case has already been won in arbitration, and anything beyond that, I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel.”

Another reporter followed up with, “You said that there’s arbitration that’s already been won — by whom and when?”

“By the president’s personal attorneys, and for details on that I’d refer you to them. I can share that the arbitration was won in the president’s favor,” Sanders replied.

As many news outlets quickly pointed out, by acknowledging Trump winning some arbitration against Daniels, we have tacit confirmation that there’s some sort of agreement between Daniels and Trump.

If there were no agreement, there wouldn’t be anything to arbitrate.

Oops.

Virginia: Trump Jr. Urges Republicans To Vote For Republican On Wrong Day – TWICE

Donald Trump Jr.

As voters in Virginia are heading to the polls today to vote, Donald Trump Jr. thought he would do his part to help the Republican candidate for governor, Ed Gillespie.

The junior Trump tweeted out messages like, “Let’s take @EdWGillespie across the finish line tomorrow! Virginia: get out and vote for Ed  & entire GOP ticket #VAGov #VA.”

The only problem is: today is the election, not tomorrow.

And Jr. tweeted the wrong day TWICE!

Needless to say, the Twitterverse had a field day:

Dr. Ben Carson: “Poverty Is A State Of Mind”

Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development

The New York Times reports that the current Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson who has no background in housing, told Armstrong Williams at SiriusXM Radio that poverty is “a state of mind.”

“I think poverty to a large extent is also a state of mind,” he said, according to a transcript of the interview that was released on Wednesday. “You take somebody that has the right mind-set, you can take everything from them and put them on the street, and I guarantee in a little while they’ll be right back up there.” He added that helping people may not better their lives. “You take somebody with the wrong mind-set, you can give them everything in the world — they’ll work their way right back down to the bottom,” Mr. Carson said.

And Twitter had a field day:

Donald Trump’s “Great Memory” Can’t Remember Famous Muslim Athletes

Although Donald Trump says his memory is “one of the all-time great memories,” he tweeted that he didn’t know of any Muslim sports heroes.

I’m guessing that memory isn’t all that since he’s met Muhammad Ali many times.

Oh, and then there’s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal… That’s just off the top of my head, and I’m not even a sports guy.

Rick Santorum: Equal Rights For LGBTs Could Make Kids Want To Be Transgender

Virulently anti-gay GOP White House hopeful Rick Santorum recently called in to The Steve Malzberg Show with the inane idea that LGBT rights bills could lead children to consider “maybe” becoming transgender – as if being trans is something one “becomes” rather than something one is.

“I don’t know why children at that age — why this is even an issue, the idea that we are introducing this type of real dangerous confusion for young people at this early age, do we really care about what we’re doing to millions of children who don’t have gender confusion and basically introducing the subject and saying, ‘maybe you should, maybe this is something you should start thinking about at age seven.’ I mean this is really dangerous and it’s going too far because it is having an impact on not just folks who may be in a difficult situation at an early age but many who would never have been in that situation but now are being confronted with it.”

Congressman Louie Gohmert: Put Gay Couples On An Island To See If They Die Out

While speaking at Liberty University last week, anti-LGBT Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert repeated his call to test his theory that same-sex relationships are “unnatural.”

“Let’s just take a totally secular approach to this. Congress is good about having studies; how about if we take four heterosexual couples and put them on an island where they have everything they need to live and exist and we take four couples of just men and put them on an island where they have all they need to survive and then let’s take four couples of just women and put them on an island and then lets come back in 100 years and see which one nature favors.”

Of course, the same could be said about infertile couples or seniors who are past the age of reproduction.

But logic never gets in the way of Mr. Gohmert.

Fox News’ Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Sandra Bland Could Have Used Cigarette As A Weapon

I kid you not. Hasselbeck actually said this in all seriousness. This is not The Onion.

Speaking to former New York Police Department officer John Raffery, Fox News personality Elisabeth Hasselbeck suggested that the police officer caught on dash cam video asked Sandra Bland to exit her car because he was afraid Bland would wield her cigarette as a weapon.

Via Raw Story:

Rafferty said that Trooper Brian Encinia was placed on administrative duty by his department. They acknowledged that the officer stepped over the line in his violent arrest of Bland, who had merely changed lanes without using a signal.

“It appears, looking at this, because she didn’t put out the cigarette next thing he knows, he’s asking the person to step out of the vehicle,” Rafferty said about Encinia. “You can’t take it personal. It’s the job.”

“But, what if, I mean, there are times, I’m sure, someone has, in the history of this land, used a cigarette against a police officer,” said Hasselbeck, “maybe chucked it at him, pushed it at him.”

Author Of “Kill The Gays” Bill In California Tries For Constitutional Amendment

Matt McLaughlin, author of the proposed (now dead) “Sodomite Suppression Act” in California, has come back with a new tactic to try and legalize killing gays with “bullets to the head.”

Instead of a law, his new approach is to file the idea as a constitutional amendment, which he thought she would have to clear for signature gathering.

And he still doesn’t see anything wrong with his idea. He says being gay has been a crime for centuries.

Kamala Harris, California Attorney General, had this to say: “Anyone who will take up their own time, or anyone else’s time, advocating for murder of innocent people in a way that is so fueled by bigotry and hate is someone whose intelligence we should question.”

Mike Huckabee Compares Being Gay To “Lifestyle Choices” Like Drinking, Swearing

2016 political hopeful Mike Huckabee, appearing on CNN’s State Of The Union, compared homosexuality to drinking, swearing and other “lifestyle” choices.

From the interview with Dana Bash:

“People can be my friends who have lifestyles that are not necessarily my lifestyle. I don’t shut people out of my circle or out of my life because they have a different point of view. I hope the party doesn’t change its overall view, but the very fact that I talk about relationships I have with friends who are gay, indicate that I’m not a person who shuts everybody out around me who disagrees.”

“I don’t drink alcohol, but gosh — a lot of my friends, maybe most of them, do. You know, I don’t use profanity, but believe me, I’ve got a lot of friends who do. Some people really like classical music and ballet and opera — it’s not my cup of tea.”

“I’d like to think that there’s room in America for people who have different points of view without screaming and shouting and wanting to shut their businesses down. What worries me in this new environment we’re in, it’s not just that someone might disagree, they don’t want to argue with me, even take a different point of view. They want to close someone’s business down.”
