YouTube Musician Pogo Explains Hating “Disgusting” Gays & Cheering Pulse Nightclub Shooting

Pixar/Nickelodeon musician Pogo reveals he has a "robust resentment" of gays and cheered the Pulse Nightclub massacre
Pogo fist pumps in honor of Pulse Nightclub massacre

I should sub-title this post “How to lose your job in less than two minutes.”

Pogo, aka Nick Bertke, an electronic musician from Western Australia whose videos remixing Disney animated classics have drawn more than 200 million views on YouTube, surprised his fans today in a video explaining the name of his channel – Fagottron.

For years many LGBT fans and outlets have shared his videos assuming his YouTube channel name was a nod to his own out and proud gayness.

But, no.

In the video, Berkte happily breaks down for his fans his “robust resentment” of the gays and actually fist pumps when he references the Pulse Nightclub shooting calling the deadly massacre “just fantastic.”

From the video:

“I came up with ‘Fagottron’ because I’ve always had a very thorough dislike of homosexuals. I’ve never liked a grown man acting like a 12-year-old girl. I’ve always found that to be quite disgusting.

“So, I thought to myself, how can I best express to the world that gays are just an abomination?

“So I thought, here in Australia – well, in America as well – you like to call gays ‘fags’ or ‘faggots.’ I think nothing encapsulates the sissiness of a gay guy quite like the word ‘faggot.’

“So, I thought to myself, I’m going to call myself ‘Fagottron’ and hopefully people get it.

“I have a fairly robust resentment of the gay community. I don’t want to really get into this, but when there was the Orlando shooting and the guy was shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ or something I was like (pumps fist).

“But yeah, I’ve got to be a bit careful with that because well, you know, I don’t like gays – but I don’t want to see people getting killed in nightclubs either.

“But still, I mean, it’s just fantastic. It just amazes me to see the West welcoming in a culture through the floodgates that wants gays dead (laughing). I think that’s fantastic.”

According to JoeMyGod, Bertke got a gig with Pixar and Nickelodeon after his work remixing Disney’s animated classics drew widespread acclaim. We’ll be curious to see if Pixar likes what they see today…

I wonder if he’ll try walking this back saying he was on Ambien?

Former NC Gov. Pat McCrory Named “Phobie Of The Year”

“Phobie of the Year” – Former NC Gov. Pat McCrory

North Carolina thankfully has a new governor as former State Attorney General Roy Cooper (D) was sworn in just after the stroke of midnight last night.

He replaces The Advocates‘ “Phobie of the Year,” now former Gov. Pat McCrory.

Although the competition was tough picking the biggest hater of 2016, McCrory wins the title for his atrocious support and passage of North Carolina’s anti-LGBT “bathroom bill,” HB2.

Here’s how The Advocate frames McCrory’s despicable stance:

Even as jobs left the state and performers canceled concerts and millions piled up in lost revenue, McCrory and Republicans refused to rethink what they passed in House Bill 2.

Lawmakers hadn’t approved a RFRA exactly. Instead, they passed a law banning any locality from including LGBT people in antidiscrimination ordinances. In other words, they wanted to ensure that discrimination against LGBT people remains legal no matter where you go in North Carolina. They also barred transgender people from using the bathroom that matches their gender identity in any government building, without citing a single incident caused in North Carolina by letting transgender people use the bathroom of their choice.

McCrory owns responsibility for the law, having called a special session to pass it. But he also sued the Obama administration to make the case that there’s no legal basis for protecting transgender people.

Republicans sided heavily with McCrory, who was just so sure he’d win by demagoguing transgender people that he went on Meet the Press to make the case nationally. The state GOP senatorial committee launched a Stand With McCrory website that was basically a fan site for HB 2. McCrory actually ran a campaign ad touting his transphobia as a major selling point. He invented a story about how liberals supposedly want boys to shower with girls in a TV commercial ironically titled “Common Sense.” He even had transphobic bumper stickers printed up.

“You know, when we were raising average teacher pay, creating new jobs, and cutting taxes, other folks were actually pushing to make our schools allow boys to use the girls’ locker rooms and showers,” said McCrory. “Are we really talking about this? Does the desire to be politically correct outweigh our children’s privacy and safety? Not on my watch.”

And with that, North Carolinians voted him out of office.

Come election night, the folks of North Carolina decided they had seen enough business leave their state over the hateful legislation that McCrory championed.

He didn’t go quietly though. McCrory drew out the certification of the election results for weeks trying to toss the decision to the Republican controlled state legislature.

But to no avail.

Ever the sore loser, McCrory couldn’t help but take potshots at his critics on his way out the door.

From The Raleigh News & Observer:

He said HB2 likely played a major role in his election defeat, and he blamed the Charlotte City Council – which passed a nondiscrimination ordinance that prompted HB2 – as well as the LGBT advocacy groups that backed economic boycotts of the state. He called it a “manufactured crisis.”

“I wish I would have been successful in convincing Charlotte not to start this masquerade of an issue, that no doubt had an impact on my future election and on North Carolina in a very unfair way,” he says in the video, adding that he was “unsuccessful in convincing the legislature maybe not to overreact.”

Anti-Gay Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis Loses At 6th Circuit Court Of Appeals

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis (R)

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis lost today at the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in her request for a stay regarding a lower court’s ruling which compels her to issue marriage licenses to her constituents.

The lower court issued a temporary stay on it’s ruling to give Davis time to request the stay at the Sixth. That temporary ruling is set to expire on August 31st.

There is virtually no chance that SCOTUS will even take the request, let alone grant it.

See the full ruling here.

“The injunction operates not against Davis personally, but against the holder of her office of Rowan County Clerk.

“In light of the binding holding of Obergefell, it cannot be defensibly argued that the holder of the Rowan County Clerk’s office, apart from who personally occupies that office, may decline to act in conformity with the United States Constitution as interpreted by a dispositive holding of the United States Supreme Court.

“There is thus little or no likelihood that the Clerk in her official capacity will prevail on appeal.”

The day after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage, Davis stopped issuing marriage licenses in her county. No one, straight or gay, can obtain a marriage license in her county today.

Davis refuses to issue marriage licenses to gay or lesbian couples based on her ‘deeply held religious beliefs.’

It should be noted that her ‘religious beliefs’ don’t seem to affect her ability to marry and divorce. Davis is currently on her 4th marriage.

Yeah, she’s really worried about the “sanctity of marriage.”

Hater Of The Day: Mat Staver Calls White House Rainbow Lights “Cloak Of Shame”

After the White House celebrated the historic same-sex marriage ruling from SCOTUS by lighting the White House in rainbow colors, hate group leader Mat Staver had this to say today on Christian radio:

“It’s unprecedented in American history that the president of the United States would be so in-your-face immoral and impose that immorality and sin on the rest of the country. I wept when I saw that and thought about what a horrible example that is to the rest of the world. I just felt shameful to be an American at that point in time, that this is my country and look what my country has come to. The president of the United States has put the cloak of sin over the White House, the cloak of shame over the White House.”

Seriously, folks. A rainbow – a symbol of diversity and unity – made this man weep.

Staver was so upset that more Americans now have equal rights he felt “shameful to be an American.”

Now, is that screwed up or what?
