Bremen Menelli (via Instagram)

Some news items you might have missed:

Men’s Variety: With gyms closing in parts of the country due to COVID-19, here are 10 tips on how to exercise outside this winter during the pandemic – although InstaHunk Bremen Menelli (above) seems to have it figured out 😉

Gay Star News: After a seven-year campaign, Switzerland’s parliament has passed the final vote on same-sex marriage, making the central European country the 29th country in the world to approve marriage equality.

KIT212: Kenneth round’s up the what’s what in LGBTQ publications each week like this issue of Dallas Voice.

LGBTQ Nation: A 17-year-old transgender girl died by suicide earlier this week, just days after she was humiliated by a school administrator for wearing a skirt.

OMG Blog: The brainless bombshell known as the bimbo is one of our most familiar tropes, but recently, a new brand of halfwit hottie has been gaining recognition. Enter the himbo. Like their bimbo counterparts, the requirements for a himbo are simple: They’re hot, kind… and not too bright.

The Advocate: A gay couple in Eureka, California, woke up to find their Christmas decorations had been ripped down, torn, and smeared with feces. The local police chief has announced that, if found, the perpetrator will be charged with a hate crime.

Metro Weekly: A federal judge has ordered the state of Wisconsin to provide a transgender inmate with gender confirmation surgery to treat her gender dysphoria. Although she was permitted to receive hormone treatments, counseling, and even allowed to wear some women’s clothing, she was denied gender confirmation surgery after requesting it in 2013.

NBC News: A Republican committee in Virginia unanimously passed a resolution censuring Rep. Denver Riggleman, R-Va., saying he betrayed the party’s values when he officiated a same-sex wedding in 2019.

News Round-Up: December 2, 2020

Bremen Menelli (via Instagram)

Some news items you might have missed:

InstaHunks: Bremen Menelli (above) proves that being fully clothed can be sexy, too. Follow him on Instagram here.

OUT: Noted lesbian-centric website AfterEllen, which has become a bastion for TERFs (trans-exclusionary radical feminists), has disappeared from the interwebs.

White House: In the final World AIDS Day proclamation of his presidency, Donald Trump made no mention of the disease’s impact on LGBTQ people who make up 69% of all HIV cases in the U.S.

Washington Blade: White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany falsely said Wednesday that Donald Trump was the first to adorn the White House with a red ribbon commemorating World AIDS Day, dodging a question from the Washington Blade on why he omitted any reference to LGBTQ people from his proclamation. Both former President Obama and former President George W. Bush hung red ribbons on the White House during their administrations to mark World AIDS Day.

• Washington Post: 69-year-old Craig Buescher was in good health and believed the virus wouldn’t be that bad if he came down with it. While he doesn’t know how he ultimately contracted the virus, it was, in fact, quite bad. Nine days in the hospital, as he struggled to breathe, convinced him that not only did he need to be more careful to avoid the virus, but also that he should persuade others to do the same.

Politico: Donald Trump’s own Attorney General, William Barr, has publicly affirmed that there was no evidence of large-scale fraud during this year’s election. “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr said, according to the AP.

New York Times: Donald Trump has discussed with advisers whether to grant pre-emptive pardons to his children, to his son-in-law, and to his personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, and talked with Mr. Giuliani about pardoning him as recently as last week.

Instinct Magazine: After fifteen years and over one hundred Real Housewives, the city that started it all has given the franchise their first out lesbian Housewife. Real Housewives of Orange County Braunwyn Windham-Burke has come out as a lesbian, proclaiming proudly “it feels so good to be living my truth.”

Modern Bears’ Travis and his boo, John White, shared their wedding pics:

View this post on Instagram

It was a week before our originally scheduled but then cancelled wedding date of May 23rd when our good friends the Bartons, invited us over for dinner. We were all still trying to physically and emotionally navigate Covid’s ravaged takeover of the world we knew. The Barton family, Greg, Dee Dee, and daughters Maddie and Chloe had been in serious quarantine lock-down for weeks, not venturing out, or seeing people. We talked about the postponement of our wedding and shed some tears. And then Dee Dee said, “hey, why don’t you still get married? I can legally officiate it, and we’ll just do it here on your original day, May 23rd.” And so, a week later, we did. We were touched by the family’s enthusiasm and efforts in making the moment special for us, and it was beyond lovely. Maddie, an incredibly talented musician, played our wedding dance song on her sax, “That Sunday, That Summer” ( and we slow danced by their pool. Dee Dee had emailed each of us questions about out how we met, etc. earlier in the week and then integrated each of our answers into her marriage ceremony speech before marrying us. We all cried and ate chocolate wedding cake. We decided to just keep it to ourselves until we could do it officially before all of our family and friends on November 28th, the new date for the wedding. November 28th seemed like a long ways away when we rescheduled our wedding back in early May. Surely everything would be back to some sort of normalcy by then, where we could all be together again sans masks and social distancing. But here we are. So, we’ve decided to postpone our wedding celebration party until Fall of next year. And we hope and pray for so many reasons that we will ALL be able to celebrate together by then. A huge thanks to that sweet family for opening up their home and hearts to us, and making our wedding happen ❤️. #gaylove #gaywedding #covidwedding #gaymarriage #gaycouple #lovewins #bearcouple
