• The Advocate: Two gay Iranian men who fled their home country after being arrested for “homosexual conduct” and facing possible execution are at risk of being deported by the U.S. as early as Sunday. BBC Releases All-Star Version of Beach Boys “God Only Knows”

An all-star version of Brian Wilson’s hit song “God Only Knows” has been recorded and released by the BBC to mark the launch of BBC Music, which is described as “an ambitious wave of new programmes, innovative partnerships and ground-breaking music initiatives that amount to the BBC’s strongest commitment to music in 30 years”.

Among the artists taking part in the recording are Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Pharrell Williams, Chris Martin, Lorde and Florence Welch.

The song will be released as a single to raise money for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.

BBC’s “EastEnders” Johnny & Danny kiss

This kiss on the British soap Eastenders between characters Johnny Carter and Gary Pennant (Sam Strike and Gary Lucy) is causing a bit of controversy after dozens aired homophobic reactions on Twitter following the episode.

Although the BBC says it has received very few complaints through official channels to the kiss between Eastenders characters Johnny Carter and Gary Pennant (Sam Strike and Gary Lucy), Twitter reactions have taken a disappointingly homophobic tone to the romantic interlude on a recent episode of the British soap opera.

Some called for killing the “faggots” and complaining that the show was filled with them.

Alex Jones on BBC Sunday Politics

So, most of The Randy Report readers won’t know too much about Alex Jones. I tend to ignore him because his ranting and conspiracy theories usually get so “out there” they exceed bad science fiction.

But, just as an example, here is how he conducts himself as a guest on BBC Sunday Politics. Watching this will tell you everything about this conservative, outspoken radio show host. He barely allows anyone else to speak, he gets loud and louder, and he’s obnoxious.

Check the last minute where the host says Jones is “the worst person I ever interviewed.”

Backstage at BBC The One Show with ONJ

Olivia Newton-John with the hosts of BBC’s The ONE Show and Billy Bragg

Took a few pics backstage while Olivia Newton-John was doing BBC’s The One Show last night.  It’s always fascinating to me how the “magic” happens behind the cameras.  You can watch the episode online by clicking here.  I think the link is good for about a week.

Very nice folks there. Olivia really enjoyed it and even sang with Billy Bragg a bit on “If Not For You.”

The show did a segment on dogs who help firemen sniff out the causes of fires. The dogs were adorable and of course, Olivia had to say “hello” to them.

Did I mention they had wine in the green room?
