Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds |
Last month, I wrote about Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds’ annual music festival LOVELOUD which aims to raise money for LGBTQ charities and organizations like The Trevor Project and the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
This year the event takes place on July 28 featuring, in addition to Imagine Dragons, artists like Zedd, Grace Vanderwaal, Vagabon, and others at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

AT&T announces huge donation to The Trevor Project |
As the country celebrates Pride Month, LGBT ally AT&T has announced a $1 million donation to The Trevor Project, the nation’s leading organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth.
These funds will help modernize and transform The Trevor Project’s suicide prevention capabilities and help them serve up to four times more LGBTQ youth through their digital platforms than previously possible.
This means more LGBTQ youth experiencing a crisis will be able to reach trained and caring crisis counselors.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth aged 10 – 24, and LGBTQ youth are almost five times as likely to have attempted suicide compared to their heterosexual peers.
In addition to the huge donation, the single largest in the 20-year history of The Trevor Project, AT&T will also donate more than $675,000 worth of AT&T products and services as well as technology & connectivity expertise. Plus, AT&T will also actively recruit employee volunteers to further support the life-saving work of The Trevor Project.
AT&T has a long history of supporting the LGBTQ community stretching back to 1975, when the communications giant was one of the very first American companies to prohibit discrimination against employees based on sexual orientation.
In 1998, the company adopted one of the very first domestic partner benefits programs for LGBTQ employees. And in 2006, AT&T was a leader once again as one of the first companies to offer transgender-inclusive health care benefits.
Also, look for the exclusive premiere of Alone In The Game, the AT&T original feature-length documentary which follows a group of athletes and sports figures from the biggest stages in American sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLS, and NCAA, among others, to explore the ongoing struggles LGBTQ athletes are facing at the professional, collegiate and Olympic levels.
You can catch Alone In The Game on June 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on AT&T AUDIENCE Network – DIRECTV ch. 239 and AT&T U-verse ch. 1114 and via streaming services on DIRECTV NOW, DIRECTV, and AT&T U-verse apps. DIRECTTV is a subsidiary of AT&T.
And, beginning June 1, DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW customers can find the “Celebrate Pride” carousel across all their devices featuring some of the best and brightest LGBTQ TV shows and films available! From the new Ryan Murphy series “Pose” for FX to fan favorites on-demand like VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and FOX’s “Empire.”” and classics like NBC’s “Will & Grace” and Showtime’s “The Real L Word.”
Beyond Pride Month, on July 28 in Salt Lake City, there’s the second annual LOVELOUD Festival founded by Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and powered by AT&T.
LOVELOUD is designed to ignite the relevant and vital conversation of what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept, and support LGBTQ+ youth in our communities.

AT&T Announces Winners Of “Live Proud On Campus” Scholarship Contest
In August, I wrote about AT&T’s first-ever Live Proud on Campus scholarship contest.
The contest called on college students 18+ to submit a video pitch for an LGBT-supportive project they’d like to see at their schools.
The public voted on 15 semi-finalist videos, narrowing the field down to 6 finalists, and the Human Rights Campaign chose the 3 grand prize winners. To watch their submission video click on the hyperlinks.
• Amy Kelley (University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania)
• Leyth Swidan (Columbia University in New York)
• Ryan Wells (Elon University in North Carolina)
The winning projects support the LGBT community and focus on LGBT equality, visibility and/or acceptance on college campuses.
Each of the winning students will receive a $10,000 scholarship, $2,500 in funding to execute their campus project, a semester-long mentorship experience with HRC to help develop their projects, and more.
Additionally, the winners will also be flown to Washington, D.C. to attend the HRC National Dinner on Oct. 28.
But wait – there’s more! AT&T is will also contribute $25,000 to the Human Rights Campaign to support their continued efforts to uplift the LGBT community.
Big thanks to AT&T for the awesome support.

AT&T Launch 3rd Annual LIVE PROUD Campaign For Pride Month
In celebration of LGBT Pride Month and Pride season, AT&T is proud to launch the third annual “Live Proud” campaign that is centered on awareness, empowerment and most importantly, pride.
For many individuals, living openly and stating “This is Me” can be challenging. That’s why AT&T has designed the Live Proud campaign this year to provide a platform for everyone to have their voices heard.
The LGBT community and beyond can take part in this campaign by creating a unique 15 seconds-or-less “This is Me” video and uploading it to the AT&T Live Proud website at ATT.com/LiveProud to enter the AT&T “This is Me” Sweepstakes.
Of the videos submitted, four lucky winners will be selected at random to win a trip for two to New York City and two tickets to OUT100.
From June 1 through August 9, participants can join the movement in the following ways:
• “Like” the AT&T Live Proud Facebook page by visiting ATT.com/LiveProud and join us in celebrating LGBT awareness, empowerment and pride.
