Gus Kenworthy, out Olympic skier and all-around hottie, has been cast in one of my favorite shows and I am shook!
Hollywood super-producer Ryan Murphy broke the news this morning on Instagram (cause that’s how news happens these days) that gorgeous Gus has been cast in the next installment of American Horror Story.
The social media post featured a pic of a grinning Gus with the caption, “That special moment when you realize you have an Olympic medal AND will be playing Emma Roberts’ boyfriend on ‘American Horror Story’ Season 9.”
Gus replied to the post with a giant “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.”
AHS alum Colton Haynes chimed in writing, “Ahhhhhh, so happy for u @guskenworthy!!! Ur gonna be soooo amazing and so happy ur finally getting into acting!!!”
A post shared by Ryan Murphy (@mrrpmurphy) on Feb 6, 2019 at 9:52am PST
Over on his own Instagram, Gus shared Murphy’s post writing, “I guess the cat’s out of the bag… I’m So F*cking Shook ILYSM @mrrmurphy” complete with applause, crying and love-struck emojis.
Out actor Charlie Carver (Teen Wolf, Boys in the Band) blessed the “Awesomeness” news , and YouTuber Max Emerson threw in a “Whoah!”
In fact, the comments on Gus’s post turned into a “who’s who” of gay Instagram including Eliad Cohen, Justin & Nick, Adam Rippon, Andy Mientus,
Gus, who won a silver medal in the men’s Slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, told Variety last year that acting has been his dream since childhood.
He’s dabbled a bit up to now making his TV acting debut in a 2016 episode of ABC’s The Real O’Neals. He also had a cameo moment in the cult TV hit, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.
But for the most part, Gus has let his longtime boyfriend, Matthew Wilkas (Gayby, Eastsiders), be the actor of the couple.
Arrow/Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes went on an unexplained Twitter rant last night calling out Hollywood power peeps for not hiring more openly LGBT actors.
Haynes did, however, reserve praise for Hollywood execs Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story), Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Jeff Davis (Teen Wolf) who have cast the handsome Haynes in his three most high-profile roles.
“Hollywood is so f**ked up. So much of the focus is on your personal life & has nothing to do with the talent you have to bring to the table.”
“Thank god for Ryan Murphy, Greg Berlanti, & Jeff Davis. They believe gay actors are more than just their personal lives.
“So disappointed in how Hollywood cant understand that playing a character has nothing to do with how u live your personal life.”
Haynes makes his return to Teen Wolf in the September 10 episode with fellow alum Charlie Carver as a hottie gay were-couple, and will also appear in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Cult beginning September 5.

After his stints on horror television series’ Teen Wolf and Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens, I think Colton Haynes will be quite at home as part of the upcoming 7th season of Murphy’s wildly successful anthology series, American Horror Story.
Haynes confirmed the casting via Instagram posting a blood-smeared pic of his face with the caption, “American Horror Story Season 7 … Already feels like home 🙂 So excited @mrrpmurphy.”
According to reports, season seven’s theme will embrace aspects of the 2016 presidential election.
Fresh off her knock-out tribute performance of The Sound Of Music on the Academy Awards, Lady Gaga veers again into a completely different direction as she tweets the news she will be joining the 5th season of the television anthology series “American Horror Story: Hotel.”
Check out our first look at Neil Patrick Harris’ upcoming debut on American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Apparently playing the role of a traveling saleman named “Chester,” Harris would look to be some sort of magician who like to attempt the classic “saw a lady in half” routine.
Harris will appear in episodes 11 and 12 – beginning when the show returns to FX Network on January 7th at 10PM.
