Some news items you might have missed: • Edge Media: Weston Brown, 28, felt his heart tighten as he saw a Twitter video of his own homophobic mother telling a local school board that books with LGBTQ themes should be banned. This was four years after she effectively disowned him after he came out.

Washington Post: House Democrats approved the Inflation Reduction Act to lower prescription drug costs, address global warming, raise taxes on some billion-dollar corporations and reduce the federal deficit. The final vote was 220-207.
