Season 2 Of Award-Winning ‘The Disappointments’ Arrives 3/22

Season 2 of the Humanitas Prize-winning web series The Disappointments is set to premiere on March 22.

The darkly comic series follows a group of gay friends in their 50s coming to terms with the fact that life hadn’t turned out exactly the way they thought it would.

Season One of The Disappointments arrived on Youtube back in 2021.

Series creator/star Rich Burns (lead photo) says the new season will take a deeper dive into the lives and careers of the show’s 50-somethings.

“We see them in new and challenging work settings, and getting promising opportunities that could help them turn their lives around,” Burns shares in a press statement. “Season Two is definitely a big step up.”

With the new season on its way, Burns has released new “Director’s Cuts” of the original episodes scheduled to drop weekly on YouTube in the lead-up to the Season Two premiere.

“What really excited me about this re-edit was being able to go back in and restore the show to full-length episodes – reordering scenes for a better flow, putting back in deleted scenes that I always missed, and expanding moments that were shortened for runtime,” says Burns.

“It plays so much better now. It’s funnier, sexier and more emotional, and it is more in line with the story I wanted to tell,” he adds. “For both previous viewers and people new to the series, it’s a must see. It feels like a new show.”

The Director’s Cut of the pilot is steaming now on YouTube, so click below. You definitely won’t be ‘disappointed.’

And remember the new season of The Disappointments lands March 22.
