Our 2023 Rome adventure continues as we did the obligatory visit to Trevi Fountain, and found two amazing places to eat.
It’s always impressive to see how many folks stop to visit the gorgeous Trevi Fountain.

On Saturday night, we dined at Camillo which is located right in the middle of Piazza Navona. Excellent food, very fresh, the carbonara was fantastic, and the service was impeccable.
It’s hard to beat the location taking in all of the action at Piazza Navona on a Saturday night.

Sunday night we dined at Baccano, just one block from Trevi Fountain.
I can’t gush enough about this place. The food was absolutely first rate and very affordable. Our dinner consisting of a bottle of wine, appetizer, two entrees, and dee-lish tiramisu was right at about $120.
Our server Sylvia was a delight – every one of her recommendations were excellent.
The ambiance was very comfortable with an almost New York City vibe with dark wood and smooth jazz playing in the background. AND – considering the August heat, it’s very worth mentioning the restaurant is air-conditioned and utilizes ceiling fans. So you’re totally comfortable.
A big surprise was the delicious tiramisu created right at our table (see video below).
Baccano is easily my favorite restaurant in Rome now.

By the way, we love our hotel, The Pantheon. Rooms might be a little small for some folks, but the design and style are upscale. You feel like you’re staying in a very nice boutique hotel. And the very comfortable rooftop patio (for breakfast or evening drinks/dinner) has a fantastic view of Rome.
We just boarded the Odyssey of the Seas cruise ship and I’ll be sharing more of the adventure as we go.
If anyone is onboard, let me know in the comments below and I’ll sure we meet up to say ‘hello.’
Ciao!
