Happy Tuesday! Some news stories I thought worth your time:
• Variety: “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is coming to the Sphere in Las Vegas sometime in 2027. Sphere Studios will use its signature immersive technology to enhance the 1975 cult classic as it did with “The Wizard of Oz,” which has sold more than 3 million tickets since opening in 2025.
• New Music: Out country music artist Chris Housman makes it clear with his fun new music video – he doesn’t want a cowboy, he wants a “Cowman.”
• The Caftan Chronicles: Tim Murphy chats with the owner of Palm Springs’ revamped dive bar The Tool Shed, who sees all the rich daddy/grifter stud drama up close.
• CBS Mornings: Billy Porter speaks with “CBS Mornings” about starring in the off-Broadway revival of the musical La Cage Aux Folles, working with Wayne Brady and recent health issues. Awkward moment at the 2:20 mark when guest co-host Elizabeth Hasselback (???) shares she’s “not really a drag person.”
• Washington Post: Newly-revealed records show a $600M estimate for Trump’s ballroom project, with half coming from taxpayers. An internal cost estimate in March by the project’s contractor ran $200 million more than Trump has said publicly, and counters his claims that no taxpayer money will be spent.
• The Hill: Forty-eight hours after a preliminary agreement to end the war with Iran and open nuclear discussions with Tehran was digitally signed by Trump and Vice President Vance, Trump says he “wouldn’t mind” sending the memo to Congress.
