Pro Golf Champ Dies Of Suicide, Nutjobs Try To Blame Death On COVID Vaccine

The parents of pro golfer Grayson Murray shared with the world on Sunday that the two-time PGA champ had died at age 30 of suicide Saturday morning.

From ESPN:

We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone,” Eric and Terry Murray said in a statement. “It’s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare. Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.”

Grayson Murray, 30, withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial after the 16th hole of Friday’s second round in Fort Worth, Texas. The PGA Tour cited the reason as illness.

Murray had spoken openly about his struggles with alcohol and mental health in the past. Following his win at the Sony Open in January (with a 40-foot putt), he shared that he’d stopped drinking months before. At the time, he was engaged to be married and felt his best golf was ahead of him. “It took me a long time to get to this point,” Murray said at the time. “I’m a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn’t put that drink down eight months ago.” Joe Jervis at JoeMyGod notes that upon the announcement of Murray’s passing, hideous anti-vaxxers tried to blame his death on COVID vaccines, saying the PGA sent memos to players and caddies in 2021 encouraging getting vaccinated.
