• The Advocate: Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, say a new treatment regimen helping patients with blood cancer could be effective in suppressing HIV.
• Gay City News: The Ali Forney Center’s annual spring gala, held on May 7, raised more than $3 million for the non-profit’s supportive services and housing programs for homeless LGBTQ youth.
• Axios: The LGBTQ community just got dragged into the nasty GOP primary fight between Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Trump-backed rival Ed Gallrein. The pro-Massie ad below calls out Gallrein supporter/billionaire Paul Singer for being pro-queer rights (he has a gay son) – “Say no to the freaks.”
• CNN: Last week, the Virginia state Supreme Court voided the new redistricting map approved by voters in April. Democrats are now asking the U.S. Supreme Court to effectively put that order on hold for this year’s midterm election.
• JoeMyGod: In March, a federal judge ruled that former news anchor Kari Lake had been unlawfully installed as chief executive of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, which oversees Voice of America. Trump now wants to make her ambassador to Jamaica. At least she can’t mess things up there…
