Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-JohnThe newly-released duet cover of “Jolene” by Dame Olivia Newton-John and music superstar Dolly Parton has returned the legendary singers to the Billboard charts this week.
Nearly six months since Olivia’s passing, “Jolene” enters the Country Digital Song Chart with the highest debut of the week landing at number 13.
I believe Olivia’s most recent appearance on the Billboard charts was in 2015 when she and daughter Chloe became the first mother/daughter team to hit #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart with “You Have To Believe.”
Fans were thrilled when the new duet was released complete with a music video comprised of in-studio video footage.
At the start of the video, both singers speak to the camera extolling their devotion for each other’s talents.
“Jolene” will be part of a new collection of duets by Olivia with several recording stars titled Just the Two of Us scheduled for release May 5.

Olivia was remembered with a star-studded memorial at Hamer Hall in Melbourne on Sunday. She passed away on August 8, 2022, after a lengthy cancer journey. She was 73.
