• Pink News: America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco (above) is joining the cast of Hulu’s legal drama All’s Fair for season 2, in a role adapted especially for him, after originally being written as a hearing character.
• New York Times: Chris Gallant — a gay Black Hawk pilot, volunteer fireman, and Democrat running to represent Long Island in Congress — is making the most of life following the tabloid reveal of some racy photos from more than a decade ago. New campaign slogan – “Make politics sexy again.”

• The Advocate: Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito blames the high court’s 2015 ruling legalizing marriage equality nationwide as “perhaps the decisive point” in America’s turn “against religious liberty.”
• Queerty: A man posting in the AskGayBrosOver30 subreddit has prompted debate by asking if gay life was better in the 1990s and ’00s.

• Boy Culture: Michael Kearns, a legend fixture in the gay community who later became one of the first actors to publicly acknowledge he was HIV positive, died October 5. He was 76.
• AP News: FBI agents averted a terror attack by a teenager on the Mall of America after supplying him with an assault rifle following months of text messages. The 18-year-old had been trading messages with a confidential informant for nearly two years before agents sold him the rifle and ammunition and arrested him on the spot.
