MPs and senators overwhelmingly backed the move, by 780 votes against 72, in a special joint vote of the two houses of parliament. • Washington Post: Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley has become the first woman to win a GOP primary after triumphing in D.C.’s primary. Haley received about 63 percent of the vote to Donald Trump’s 33 percent. https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1764668222459068437 • NBC News: Vice President Kamala Harris has called for an immediate Gaza cease-fire ahead of meeting with Israel’s war Cabinet member Benny Gantz. • ABC News: Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira agreed Monday that he caused one of the most extraordinary leaks of national defense secrets in years when he leaked a trove of classified military documents to an online chat board. He’s pleaded guilty and faces 11-17 years in prison. https://twitter.com/ABCWorldNews/status/1764693459452002711 • CNN: Donald Trump’s former CFO Allen Weisselberg has pleaded guilty to perjury charges that resulted from his testimony during Trump’s civil fraud trial, and been sentenced to five months in prison. This is his second jail sentence as he pleaded guilty in 2022 to evading taxes on nearly $2 million in off-the-books compensation. • New York Times: The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that Donald Trump will stay on the Colorado primary ballot. Though the justices provided different reasons, the decision was unanimous.
