Nieri (photo: Valentina Valdinoci) With his latest single, “Face,” Nieri explores the fever of perfection through his electro-pop rumination on the value Hollywood puts on keeping up via fillers, cosmetic touch-ups and visuals. With glossy ’80s inspired production that mirrors the lyrical themes of the song, “Face” features stuttering, pulsating percussion and layered pop-synth goodness. Confronted with the idea of ‘perfection,’ Nieri finds himself “caught up in the fever” of cosmetic procedures synonymous with the LA lifestyle. But there’s a key self-awareness that turns this track into a celebration. (photo: Valentina Valdinoci) “’Face‘ is an internal dialogue about wanting to look perfect,” shares the Milan-born artist. “With countless ‘flawless’ filters on social media, and the increasing convenience of cosmetic procedures, the ‘best version of yourself’ seems to suddenly be at the tip of our fingers.” The question becomes: is this obsession – or self expression? For Nieri, “‘Face‘ is a reminder to love yourself just the way you are, but also validates the desire to become the best version of yourself on the outside as much as the inside.” I covered Nieri’s first single, “Beautiful Music,” released last month here. “Face” is available now on all digital download/streaming platforms.
