I’m always up for a new release from out singer/songwriter Calum Scott, and his new power pop anthem, “Lighthouse,” does not disappoint. Opening with piano accompaniment buoyed by a touch of stormy undertow, Scott begins in pensive mode, reining in the powerful vocals yet to come. Being introduced to a new song, it’s great to have the words in front of you emphasizing their weight and meaning. This really lands as the song and visuals develop from turbulent nighttime seas to bright and warm morning light.
