Paris-based Totem Films has released the trailer for Marija Kavtaradze’s relationship drama Slow, which explores how a new romantic relationship navigates uncertain terrain when one of the partners reveals they are asexual.

The film stars Greta Grinevičiūtė and Kęstutis Cicėnas as a dancer and a sign language interpreter who meet and form a beautiful bond. As the romance develops, the couple is faced with learning to build their own kind of intimacy.

Asexuality is a topic you don’t see much in pop culture. Over the years, I’ve written so much about folks being homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, pansexual…but I just realized that being asexual is something I’ve not explored much. My bad.

Slow debuts in Sundance’s World Dramatic Competition this month.
