In today’s ‘Good Christian Love,’ a video clip of Pastor Bobby Leonard of Bible Baptist Tabernacle in Monroe, North Carolina, defending men who rape women in shorts went viral on social media. Because … Jesus. The remarks were apparently spurred by Leonard seeing women wearing shorts at an outlet mall. In the video clip Leonard says, “If you dress like that and you get raped, and I’m on the jury, he’s going to go free. You don’t like that, do you? I’m right, though. Because a man’s a man.” https://twitter.com/reachjulieroys/status/1760320468714701134 Days after the video clip went viral, receiving millions of views online, Pastor Leonard posted an apology. Commenting on the news of the “apology,” X user Nathanael Beasley noted that the sermon was actually from last August, and it took six months for it to be addressed.
The statement is good but that doesn’t change the fact that it took them SIX months to address it and it never would have happened if not for @badsermons.
