Mia Farrow And Patti LuPone On Broadway + More News

Some news items you might have missed: • CBS Sunday Morning: Acting legends (and longtime friends) Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone team up for the new Broadway play “The Roommate,” where they play women ‘of a certain age’ (from vastly different backgrounds – read between the lines) who are forced to move in together. CNN: Sharing the wealth – VP Kamala Harris’ campaign will be transferring more than $24 million to support Democratic down ballot races. • The Advocate: Far-right nutjob Candace Owens claims that “women are being socially engineered to hate men, and men are being socially engineered to be gay.” What’s scary is her podcast is often in the Top Ten on Spotify.

NC Newsline: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced last month that he was suspending his presidential campaign to endorse Donald Trump. He said he was going to take his name off the ballot in 10 battleground states, but some states’ deadlines to remove a candidate’s name (Michigan, North Carolina) have passed. #oops • Variety: Ellen DeGeneres’s final comedy special hits Netflix on September 24 where she addresses being “canceled.”

Deadline: The new movie The Apprentice, about Donald Trump’s rise to prominence in the 70s and 80s, held its U.S. premiere on Saturday night in Telluride. The drama was a hit at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, but Team Trump is apparently very unhappy about it.
