Mass Subway Shooting During Rush Hour In Brooklyn

At least 16 people were injured during a subway shooting in Brooklyn Tuesday morning during rush hour.

New York City police are on the hunt for a gunman who opened fire instigating a mass subway shooting during rush hour Tuesday morning as it approached the 36th Street station in Brooklyn. Sixteen people were injured in the incident – ten by gunfire – with five in critical but stable condition.

The incident, reported just before 8:30 a.m. local time, started on a Manhattan-bound N subway car as it approached the 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park in Brooklyn, New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said at a news conference.

The suspect put on a gas mask and opened a canister, Sewell said. As the train filled with smoke, he opened fire, striking multiple people in the subway car and on the platform, she said.
