Man Pleads Guilty To Harassment After Taking Hospital Selfie With LGBTQ Activist’s Dying Father

How hideous is this? After getting into a back-and-forth online with an LGBTQ activist, Bubba Pollock, 34, decided to travel nearly two hours and sneak into a palliative care facility to take an intimidating selfie with the activist’s father, who was being treated for late-stage cancer. Pollock has now pleaded guilty to criminal harassment for taking the bedside photo with LGBTQ activist/ally Britt Leroux’s father in June 2023. https://twitter.com/PinkNews/status/1752008356640763996 From Pink News:

A Windsor, Ontario courtroom heard on Tuesday (23 January) that Pollock made the trip to the palliative care ward after getting into an online argument with Leroux over several anti-LGBTQ+ posts Pollock had made.

Once there, he took a picture of himself in the ward, with Leroux’s father visible in a hospital bed behind him.

Pollock later sent the image to Leroux on Facebook, saying he was “very excited to meet you soon.”

Leroux said her father, who was in intensive care over an advanced stage of pancreatic cancer, was unaware of Pollock’s presence in the ward at the time the picture was taken. He died weeks later.

The health care facility says it has no idea how Pollock located Leroux’s father or gained entrance to the building. Pollock is apparently well-known in the southwestern Ontario area by the local LGBTQ community for his many harassments and anti-queer defamatory statements. He’s scheduled to return to court February 29 for pre-sentencing. Read more at Pink News.
