During an interview at CPAC last week, far-right loon Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said there shouldn’t be “any student in a public school” learning ‘comprehensive’ sex ed, and added that schools teaching sex ed should be defunded.
“They have comprehensive sex ed,” declared Boebert. “They’re teaching how to have and enjoy sex…and even same-sex sex.”
This is probably the part where I remind you that Boebert dropped out of high school when she became pregnant as a teen. Maybe she could have used some of that ‘comprehensive’ sex ed…?
The Twitterverse had some thoughts on the subject.
When I want advice on effective sex ed, I often turn to high school dropouts who had children while they were still teenagers.

No, they are teaching how to prevent pregnancy so no one drops out of high school or has to marry a high school drop out because babies having babies is not good. Your body can have babies doesn’t mean you should. You should wait until you are emotionally & financially ready

I guess that’s one way to increase teen pregnancy numbers.

So Republicans are against people enjoying sex.

Since @laurenboebert learned how to enjoy sex without Sexual Ed in HS, she may have learned how to avoid a pregnancy if the class was offered. School may have failed her.

Lauren Boebert believes that we should take sex ed out of schools and get it back behind the bowling alley, where it belongs.

Where are they teaching how to same sex sex???
— Andrew Turner (@refturner) March 8, 2023
That wasn’t what Sex ed taught when I went to school. They taught the mechanics of sex, anatomy of sexual organs and prevention of pregnancy and disease.
