Kevin Spacey Found Not Liable In Anthony Rapp Sexual Abuse Case

In 80 minutes of deliberations, a jury found Oscar winner Kevin Spacey not liable in a civil sexual abuse trial brought by actor Anthony Rapp. Rapp had accused Spacey of sexual abuse during a party at Spacey’s apartment in 1986 when both actors were appearing on Broadway in separate productions. The verdict in the civil trial came with lightning speed. Jurors at a federal court in New York deliberated for a little more than an hour before deciding that Rapp hadn’t proven his allegations.

When the verdict was read, Spacey dropped his head, then hugged his lawyers. He didn’t speak to reporters as he left the courthouse.

“We’re very grateful to the jury for seeing through these false allegations,” said his attorney, Jennifer Keller.
