• Them: Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito claimed that he was not pushing to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges — which established same-sex marriage rights across the U.S. — in a speech to a conservative law school last week, as the Court decides whether to revisit that decision.

• The Randy Report: Twenty-seven years ago today, Matthew Shepard, 21, was beaten and left for dead — tied to a fence in Wyoming. The only part of his face not covered in blood was two white lines running down his cheeks from where his tears ran dry. His death ignited a fight for equality.

• The Hill: For a fifth time, the Senate voted today along party lines (45-50) blocking the Democrats’ short-term funding bill that would reopen the federal government, funding it through October 31 and extend expiring health care tax credits. 60 votes were needed.
• Newsweek: The home of a South Carolina judge who recently ruled against the Trump administration was destroyed after it went up in flames on Saturday.
• Las Vegas: 80s pop-icon Cyndi Lauper just announced her first-ever Las Vegas residency – “Cyndi Lauper: Live In Las Vegas” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, running April 24–May 2, 2026. Ticket info here.
