JD Vance Believes Trump May Win ‘Normal Gay Guy Vote’

During an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance said he wouldn’t be surprised if he and Donald Trump were to win the “normal gay guy vote.” The label “normal” gay guy is clearly Vance’s code for “straight-acting,” which is offensive. Vance made the remark while opining that the pathway to attending Yale or Harvard has become harder for upper middle class kids due to DEI and suggested that, in order to fit into the “hyper-woke mindset,” those kids could declare themselves “gender nonbinary.” Clearly, he was mocking the idea of nonbinary kids and suggesting they aren’t “normal.”

“Think about the incentives. If you are a, you know, middle-class or upper middle-class White parent and the only thing that you care about is whether your child goes into Harvard or Yale, like obviously, that pathway has become a lot harder for a lot of upper middle-class kids.

“But the one way that those people can participate in the DEI bureaucracy in this country is to be trans, and is there a dynamic that’s going on where, if you become trans, that is the way to reject your White privilege. That’s the social signifier.

“The only one that’s available in the hyper-woke mindset is if you become gender nonbinary. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if me and Trump won just the normal gay guy vote, because, again, they just wanted to be left the hell alone.”

Rest assured Team Trump will not be winning the gay vote. A recent survey by the Human Rights Campaign found 77% of likely LGBTQ voters indicated they would vote for or are leaning in favor of VP Kamala Harris. And AP VoteCast found that 73% of LGBTQ voters supported Biden in 2020 and 25% Trump.
