Now that Republicans control the House Oversight Committee, Chairman James Comer is issuing subpoenas for the banking records of Hunter Biden, and the Biden family.
Politico reports:
It’s the first known subpoena of a financial institution by Comer as he conducts a sweeping investigation into Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden and other Biden family members.
Republicans are hoping to find a smoking gun linking the president to his son’s business deals.
No evidence has emerged that Biden’s decisions as president or vice president were influenced by those arrangements.
Ranking Oversight Committee member Jamie Raskin (D-CA) sent a letter to Comer expressing his concern for the wide-ranging sweep of documents.
Comer has apparently asked for “all financial records for three private individuals from January 20, 2009, to the present — a staggering 14-year period.”
House Oversight Chair James Comer has subpoenaed at least one financial institution as part of his probe into the Biden family, the panel’s top Democrat disclosed.
Jamie Raskin says the Kentucky Republican has asked for records from Bank of America. https://t.co/aahDctOxoU
