Happy Independence Day 2022! -

Wishing everyone a fun, frolicsome, and happy Independence Day as the country recognizes the birth of our nation.

We’ve come a ways from last July 4th, when travel was way down and gatherings were – at least supposed to be – kept within our pandemic bubbles.

This year, thanks to COVID vaccines and boosters, holiday celebrations can be safer and larger.

Here’s some stats on how far we’ve come:

• According to the CDC, 67% of all Americans are fully vaccinated (222.3 million).

• AAA predicts 42 million Americans will travel by car this holiday weekend, a new record despite historically high gas prices.

• TSA has recorded 6,745,413 passengers have traveled via air since Friday.
