Some news items I thought worth your time: • ABC News: Ryan Wesley Routh, who authorities say planned to kill Donald Trump while playing golf in mid-September, pleaded not guilty on Monday to attempting to assassinate the former president. • What To Watch: The upcoming Netflix film Emilia Pérez follows a fearsome cartel leader, Emilia (Karla Sofia Gascón), who enlists Rita (Zoe Saldaña), an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to help fake her death so that Emilia can finally live authentically as her true self. Gascón won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. and is already getting Oscar buzz. Selena Gomez also stars. On Netflix November 13. • Rolling Stone: Ellen DeGeneres laments that she was the victim of ‘cancel culture’ after reports of her being “mean” behind the scenes of her now-defunct talk show. But former employees say the comedian’s version of what happened is a case study in evasion and self-deception. • LGBTQ Nation: Derrick Anderson, a Republican running for an open House seat in Virginia, has shared video/photos showing him with a woman and her three daughters in what looks like nice family photos. Except, he seems to have ‘borrowed’ the woman and kids to present the image of a ‘family man’ GOPers tend to like.

• Tech Crunch: Elon Musk’s X is now worth less than a quarter of its $44 billion purchase price – down 79% since Musk’s purchase. • The Advocate: Continuing his attacks on transgender people, Donald Trump told his cultists in Wisconsin, “We will…keep critical race theory and transgender insanity out of our schools, and we will keep men out of women’s sports.” He also claimed Vice President Kamala Harris was born “mentally impaired.”
