After initially denying he ever dressed in drag, calling the rumors “outrageous,” perpetual liar Rep. George Santos (R-NY) now frames the story saying he just “had fun at a festival.”
In a video clip posted to Twitter, Santos tells local New York City reporter Chantee Lans of WABC, “I was young and I had fun at a festival — sue me for having a life.”
Lans also asked the embattled congressman about how he was able to loan his campaign $700K. No answer. Nor did he answer any questions about the multiple investigations he’s now facing.
People have the freedom to dress however they want to dress. What’s very telling is that the person purportedly known as GOP Congressman George Santos felt compelled to lie about it. Because he knows that is the one issue Republicans who support him care about. https://t.co/rlLIoJWtAJ

The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or “performed” as a drag Queen is categorically false.
The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results.
I will not be distracted nor fazed by this.

Let’s get this straight: George Santos denied a photo of him appearing as a drag queen. But today, when Santos was asked about it again, he didn’t deny the photo. He said he was “young & had fun at a festival.” We literally can’t trust anything that comes of out his mouth.

I don’t care that George Santos was a drag queen. I care that he did it and then joined a party which attacks people in drag.

First George Santos said it’s “categorically false” that he was a drag queen. Now he admits he did perform in drag but he wasn’t a drag queen, he just “had fun.”
Meanwhile he proudly supports Republicans’ anti-LGBTQ agenda that slanders gay people as “groomers” and pedophiles.
