Fox News is reporting final preparations are being made by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office to arrest Donald Trump next week.
The potential indictment stems from the years long investigation surrounding Trump’s alleged hush money scandal involving porn star Stormy Daniels.
Towards the end of the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen sent $130,000 to Daniels to prevent her from disclosing her 2006 affair with Trump. Trump reimbursed Cohen through installments.
If Trump were indicted, the criminal case will mark the first against a former president in American history.
According to the New York Daily News, Trump will not refuse to surrender if the Manhattan district attorney criminally indicts him. “There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office,” Joe Tacopina said.
