• OUT: Ruggero Freddi, a former gay adult actor who worked under the name Carlo Masi during his time in the porn industry, has won his lawsuit against Sapienza University in Rome, Italy after alleging he was fired unfairly for his history as a sex worker.
• LGBTQ Nation: A two-part documentary airing on the UK’s Channel 4 this week – George Michael: Outed – aims to reconsider the role of the British press in outing George Michael.
• PEOPLE: I missed it at the time of the announcement, but the cause of death for FAME star Irene Cara was released last month. The Grammy and Academy Award winner died from high blood pressure, high cholesterol and also had diabetes.

• Japan Times: Japan’s leading opposition party submitted to parliament on Monday a bill to legally recognize same-sex marriage in an effort to spur debate on the issue. Japan is the only Group of Seven country that does not legally recognize same-sex marriage or civil unions
• Des Moines Register: Iowans by the hundreds rallied Sunday at the center of Iowa government to protest legislation targeting the rights of LGBTQ citizens.

• Justice Department: Twenty-six months after the deadly invasion of the U.S. Capitol, at least 1,000 people (so far) have been arrested for their participation. Approximately 518 individuals have pleaded guilty to a variety of federal charges, many of whom faced or will face incarceration at sentencing.
