Reports of poor conditions on the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier are alarming lawmakers. The Navy ship, on an extended deployment for the Iran war, has reportedly faced food shortages, sewage problems, unsanitary conditions, and attempted suicides.
The Lincoln left its home port of San Diego on Nov. 21 and has set a modern-day record during the ongoing Iran war for the most continuous days at sea.
The ship has only stopped twice, once in Guam on Dec. 11 and then on July 7, when it briefly pulled into Oman.
The USS Abraham Lincoln has been deployed for nearly nine months, roughly three months longer than a typical deployment, as U.S. forces continue operations against Iran with “no real end to it,” @charliecbs reports.

The Military Times reported this week that at least two sailors have attempted to jump overboard, with the wife of one sailor saying burnout caused her husband to try to jump.
One sailor who jumped off the aircraft carrier on August 3 was reportedly in the water for about an hour before he was rescued, his wife told MS NOW. The wife said she was not contacted by Navy officials about the incident until four days after her husband jumped off the ship on Aug. 3.
Earlier today, CBS News reported that the USS George Washington aircraft carrier is now headed to the Middle East to replace the Lincoln.

Donald Trump, who avoided military service via 5 draft deferments and faking bone spurs in his feet, was asked today if the deployment had gone on too long. His reply? “No, no, no, not nearly long enough.”
Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth told the press the reports are “completely misrepresented.”
