José Rolón (above right with family), who’s become well-known as @nycgaydad on social media, where he shares his life raising his 3 kids in New York City, is clapping back at far-right “personality” Stewart Peters (above left), who accused him of sex crimes against his children. For years, Rolón has created family content online, garnering over 510K followers on TikTok and almost 150K on Instagram. Sure, he’s used to the occasional hater showing up in the comments sections of his content, but he admits he was not prepared for the hideous, false allegations levels at him by Peters. In the video, Peters says:
“Some pervert homo has access to at least four kids around the clock all the time. He can take them to drag conventions and then post the evidence, post pictures and videos of criminal sexual conduct … and somehow not end up in jail, or better yet, the gallows.”
Peters also tagged the New York Police Department, suggesting the authorities investigate Rolón. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3seR2MO4DL/ More from The Advocate:
“I just couldn’t believe the things that were coming out of his mouth,” Rolón told The Advocate. “He tagged the NYPD and requested for them to investigate me for not only sex crimes, but also [for me to] be met at the gallows. That, to me, is the line that was [most] shocking. … This man is actually calling for my hanging in public.”
The accusations were deeply disturbing, but Rolón said “all of this just comes down to misinformation.” He noted that many of the basic facts in Peters’ video were also incorrect, including how many children he has, and what was actually said in the clips from his account, which the host did not fully show while condemning.
“In our community, we’re often faced with this question of do we ignore it so that we don’t give this person a voice, or make it so that people are aware of the kind of people that are out there spreading misinformation about our community, especially in an election year,” he explained. “I made the decision to talk about it because I think it’s important.”
https://twitter.com/TheAdvocateMag/status/1763338624534212993 Peters blurred the children’s faces in his Instagram post, but over on Rumble, a conservative video platform, he did not. The Rumble video is apparently longer and spends a good amount of time slandering Rolón and his kids. Rolón told The Advocate his account has been engulfed with threats from Peters’ followers. The threats and harassment has force Rolón to change up his family’s daily routine including how he meets his children after school. But today, Rolón posted this message saying he’s not going to let a far-right degenerate change his life. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3-ot78LwGf/ p.s. while Stew Peters’s video is still up on X, Rolón’s account has been suspended. Because, you know, freedom of speech…
