Former ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk clapped back at out Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent calling him a “Soros stooge” who “can’t even do math” after Bessent told CNN Musk wasn’t ‘popular.’
Bessent was referencing a recent Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll that found just 33% of U.S. adults have a favorable view of Musk.
Bessent’s remarks came after Musk announced he would be creating a new political party in the U.S. this past weekend.
File this one under “Infighting is funny.”
Bessent and Musk have a history of not getting along.
Reports surfaced in recent weeks that the two got into a heated argument last April outside the Oval Office that resulted in Musk shoving Bessent.
The incident reportedly occurred after the Treasury Secretary confronted Musk about falling far short of his promise to cut a trillion dollars from government spending.
Bessent is a Soros stooge. And he’s a political science major who can’t even do math.
The polling for me was very positive a year ago, which is why Trump used me so much. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 7, 2025
