Early Voting Begins In Nevada

Early voting in the 2024 election cycle began here in Nevada on Saturday, and you can be sure hubby Michael and I were at the polls casting our ballots for VP Kamala Harris, vice presidential running mate Gov. Tim Walz, and more. From The Nevada Current:

Roughly twice as many Republicans as Democrats showed up to vote in person Saturday. That’s a departure from patterns prior to the implementation of universal mail voting, when Democrats typically outperformed Republicans in early voting.

But it is an echo of 2020, when more Republicans than Democrats voted early in person, while Democrats outperformed Republicans in mail voting. In that election, Joe Biden ended up defeating Donald Trump in Nevada by 33,596 votes.

More than 20 states currently allow folks to vote early, so check your state at vote.org and make sure you get your ballot in sooner than later.

It’s been a habit of mine to show up on the first day of early voting for years. Makes me feel like I accomplished something. Happy voting!
