Some news items for Saturday from sunny Las Vegas where we’re finally getting our holiday decorations up:
• The Advocate: Broadway/TV icon Dick Van Dyke enjoys his 100th birthday today. My friend John Casey celebrates the Tony/Emmy Award-winner as an unsung gay idol from an era of Judy, Liza, and Cher.

• AMNY: A Manhattan man is demanding ICE free his husband from custody after being detained during a green card interview in a ‘trap’ over a missed hearing three years ago.
• Gayety: Boxers NYC is back with its 2026 Bartender Calendar infusing bold, intimate photography with the charisma of the bar’s bartenders.
All proceeds benefit Out My Closet, a nonprofit providing essentials to unhoused and under-resourced LGBTQ+ youth and adults.
• Washington Blade: Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have released new photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s email and computer records including pics of Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, actor and director Woody Allen, entrepreneurs Richard Branson and Bill Gates.
• Instinct Magazine: No one is mad at Dylan Efron’s new shirtless, sexy Santa ad for Yahoo Mail. Click image below to watch.
• New York Times: Donald Trump announced he’d pardoned Tina Peters, a former Colorado county clerk convicted of tampering with voting machines, but Colorado officials dismissed the “pardon” — presidents can only pardon federal crimes and Peters was convicted on state charges.
• Axios: Trump advisers are expected to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and the leaders of Germany, France and the U.K. on Monday to try and reach an agreement for peace in Ukraine, The U.S. side thinks all other issues are close to resolution, and that Zelensky may have offered a path forward on territory.
