Pink News: Out gay Olympic judo star Timo Cavelius (above) is recovering from a broken jaw after being violently attacked by an opponent immediately after defeating him in a competition in Germany. He will need 10–12 weeks to recover and will probably miss the World Judo Championships as a result.

Judge Blocks Kennedy Center From Adding Trump’s Name (Again)

UPDATE: Immediately after a federal judge blocked Donald Trump’s name being added to the Kennedy Center building, Trump’s handpicked board voted to shutdown the performing arts center arguing the institution is in “dire” financial and structural shape.

Turkey arrests dozens of LGBTQ citizens in raids across 15 provinces

Legal authorities in Istanbul, Turkey, arrested at least 47 people across 12 provinces in government raids on LGBTQ+ bars, activist groups, and associations that took place over the weekend.

The government crackdown is part of virulently anti-LGBTQ President Tayyip Erdogan’s ongoing “My Family Is Safe” initiative, which targets queer people in the name of protecting family values, even though Turkey doesn’t have laws explicitly banning homosexuality. Supreme Court Rejects Trump’s USPS Restrictions On Mail-In Voting

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected Donald Trump’s controversial U.S. Postal Service restrictions concerning mail-in ballots from going into effect.

Legendary Hollywood fashion and costume designer Bob Mackie has died at the age of 87.

The nine-time Emmy Award-winner was known for his spectacular, over-the-top designs he created for Hollywood heavy-hitters including Cher, Diana Ross, Mitzi Gaynor and Carol Burnett.
