Deadline reports that the gay rom-com Bros will begin streaming exclusively on the Peacock platform on December 2.

The romantic comedy, considered the first from a major studio to center on two gay men, was well-received by critics when the film premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival.

But box office numbers were underwhelming when Bros had its theatrical release in September as the film grossed just over $14.6 million worldwide.

Billy Eichner, the co-writer and one of the film’s stars, drew some side-eye after taking to Twitter blaming “straight people, especially in certain parts of the country” for the pic’s poor box office performance.

The movie follows Bobby (Eichner), a jaded podcaster working to help open an LGBTQ+ history museum who meets a guy who’s normally not his type (Macfarlane). Along the way, he learns to open up to love.

The movie currently has an 88 percent “Fresh” score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an even higher 90 percent audience score.

I thought the film was hilarious, as did the audience I saw it with. It felt like we laughed throughout.

In my review, I called Bros “one of the funniest, laugh out loud movies I’ve seen in a theater in a very long time.”

Check out Bros on Peacock beginning December 2.
