Biden Trolls Conspiracy Theorists With Super Bowl Post

Still celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs victory at Super Bowl LVIII, I start the new week laughing as President Biden trolls the far-right loons who have been pushing a wild conspiracy theory. Some Trump cultists apparently believe that the romance between pop superstar Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is some kind of psyop (military lingo for psychological operation) meant to tilt the presidential election in Biden’s favor. Swift endorsed Biden in the 2020 race, and has (gasp!) encouraged her fans to register to vote (without saying who to vote for, mind you…) https://twitter.com/JoeBiden/status/1756888470599967000 On both of his Instagram and X accounts, Biden posted an image of the ‘Dark Brandon’ meme’ (pic of the prez with red lasers for eyes) with the caption, “Just like we drew it up.” At this writing, the post on X has over 137 million views, and the Instagram iteration has over 834K Likes. LOL… https://www.instagram.com/p/C3O64VHNXBH/ Just before the big game, Team Biden announced with a short video that the campaign had joined TikTok. After a serious of innocent questions (“Chiefs or Niners? Game or commercials?”) Biden is asked if he was “deviously plotting” so the Chiefs could make the Super Bowl or are the Chiefs just a good team. Biden replies, “I’d get in trouble if I tell you that” before the clip cuts to the “Dark Brandon” meme again. https://twitter.com/BidenHQ/status/1756862645360099534 In related news, Trump also waded into the Super Bowl / Taylor Swift / Travis Kelce topic on Sunday via his Truth Social account. The Donald appeared to take credit for Swift’s success (because he signed the Music Modernization Act into law) and then tried to shame her into endorsing him. According to the U.S. Copyright Office, the Music Modernization Act “updates the copyright law to make statutory licensing more fair for creators and more efficient for digital music providers,” . Trump signed the bill into law after the legislation received bipartisan support in Congress. The Independent reports that Trump had no involvement other than signing the bill.
